Not on the right track yet. I don't feel warmth or caring.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation.
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

1st place - 50 points
2nd place - 20 points
3rd place - 10 points
4-6th place - 5 points
7-10 place - 3 points
10th on - 1 point

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

I'm supposing we need more guidance then...

That's fair. I appreciate that neither design showed bodies or faces...or tried to depice a traditional family. (Definitely wouldn't work)

#1 Nice idea, but I felt like I've seen it before.

#2 would work great in one color, which is important. But the colors are too corporate, which may be why I didn't feel the warmth.

Color ideas:friendly blues, greens, purples, maybe with lighter browns/copper. No Red, No red/green, no navy/yellow.

btw, this is my second contest (different logo and agency name), and we got a wonderful variety of ideas and colors..then we narrowed down the colors and feel before we chose the winner. So I didn't want to give and specific ideas - yet - to limit creativity.

It took me awhile to see the difference between 6 and 7. I liked the darker contrast in 6 . I put 8 as my second choice because I liked the name to the right of the design (as an option), though the colors are wrong. I'm first looking for overall design and feel, then colors, then I'll look at fonts (The J needs to look like a J with the hook rather than an "I")

And I really hope to see more ideas designers!!

Yes, #6 #7 #8 are just to show versatility. BTW, you can click on a given design and that will take you to the designer's personal contest page where you can scroll down to a comment field to leave your remarks. With a # sign before an entry number and no space between (eg. #n ) you can hot-link to the design you intend.

#9. Thank you for the entry. But it needs to be more simple, work in black and white only, and not depict any actual people. Yes, I know that sounds strange for an agency with the name Family in it....but Family can be described in so many ways (single parent, two adults w/ no kids, same gender relationship as well as the traditional mom/dad/2 kids) that it is best to not show any.

I uploaded our current logo.
We are changing it because we want it to be more friendly & more contemporary.
Some like the star and heart (hard to see the heart in these colors), but I'd like to see variations or other ideas that were never considered.

great! I ranked them, but the ranking may change as I get more input from others in the agency

This is a typical lull in the course of a contest, jfscinti. Not to worry just yet...:)

#18 is an interesting approach to our current logo. But I"l need others' opinions. I think some may think it is too cutesy.
I like the name capitalized to show strength. And I prefer the three words to have equal attention...with them all stacked like #18.
Would it work to use the uneven edges of our current logo (although the bottom triangle of our current logo is straight and SHOULD be uneven). The reason is that a normal interlocking star is soooo common.

This is my second use for logotournament. I also just used it for adoption connection, a division of Jewish Family Service. You can see the results here: https://logotournament.com/contests/adoption_connection
You may want to incorporate the look or heart of adoption connection's logo into the JFS one.
Also the JFS website (that needs a major overhaul but you can see the current logo) is www.jfscinti.org

I'm also not sure if we want a total new look for our current logo, or an update. We do NOT want the comet tails that is there presently.

I like #27 contemporary feel and crisp cap letters to show "strength" (an important phrase in our mission is to strengten lives)
I like the colors of #15 and #22....and yes, #27. When a look was chosen, I was going to focus on colors and font. Although I want the colors to coordinate with adoption connection, I'm not sure if I want the same colors, or a more muted/deeper/richer tones that would look good with the brown of #27 (and drop one or two of the other colors). And the logo DOES have to work in one color.

#31, I started with a higher ranking, and keep moving down because, although it is interesting, it doesn't seem to work from far away or when reduced in size.

I've been sick all week.Sorry for not giving more input. Thanks all

#40 Interesting new and contemporary approach to our old logo.
#41. I appreciate seeing it in colors, but the colors are too young. Almost what I'd expect to see in a child's room. I like the colors of #18 or maybe #40 with the brown and warm deep greens, or the browns with the blues

We also like the strong friendly font of #40 and the way the font is stacked so the JFS can be read as JFS (many just call us JFS) And we decided that the name should be with Upper Case first letters and lower case everything else.

Also, please do not limit the color combinations to what i suggested...didn't want to take time putting them all out there.

Why I extended the contest. Unfortunately, I have been away from my office all week due to illness. I just returned to work for a few hours today and hope to have time tomorrow to get others' input. Once I have narrowed it down to 2-3 solid designs, I then ask a broader group to get involved. Then I can give more detailed feedback for tweaking.

puji, i actually liked the look of your original 39 more than 50-51. But it isn't what we are looking for.
