Hi Illumina, this is a great first design and I really appreciate that you put it on both white and black. I'll post a general content in a minute to this same effect for everyone's benefit, but one thing I'm hoping for is to have both a treatment of the word zvelo and a logo element. I suppose in this case we could pull out the e and use that so it could work, but I had envisioned something more like most of the entries for inspired bytes (https://logotournament.com/contests/inspired_bytes) where there is a logo, a name treatment, and combination. In our case, this is specifically so we have an easy way to make favorite icons for the web site that tie in with the logo. Great start though, thank you!

ill see if I can add an icon to it, and keep the name all in one color so the e doesnt take too much attention from the icon :)

here are examples of how the existing logo can be used. I'm still trying to think of an icon not just related to security, something related to software perhaps?

Hi Illumina,

I still really like what you've done. The "e" by itself is not what we're looking for so I'm going to mark those off, but the zvelo treatment -- the font and the high side on the right of the v -- look great. In showing this to some folks though they didn't know what the word was. In other words, they didn't realize the padlock was an "e", which didn't occur to me since I already knew it should be an e -- and besides that it looks like one. But I wanted to provide that feedback.

I do like entry #7 as my leading entry right now (and will reorder shortly), but some others in the office like #5, which I will put second. Not the font used, but the keyhole in the "o" and the shield. For me though, I'd rather go more abstract on the logo and/or add a sense of motion to it...

So here is a text treatment thats young, dynamic, web 2.0 and conveys motion. I'm still trying to figure out an icon, hopefully related to security and global/network. :)

Hi illumina,

OK, so I like what you're doing and I think you succeeded in adding some motion and web 2.0 to the logo, but I don't think you can read it. The zvelo looks like zveb. The treatment on the original logos you submitted, like #7 is still my favorite. Perhaps the motion can be put around or to the side of zvelo instead of inside the letters? Or not. As-is it just isn't readable enough.

With regards to the shield and keyhole ideas... these work, but I'm not excited about them. Sorry I can't be more clear than that since I'm not sure how I can better define what's right and what's missing since I'm not sure myself...

Hi illumina,

I'm glad you're still submitting entries. As I've said elsewhere, your treatment of the lettering remains my favorite. I'm glad you've branched away from the padlock, too, as I've grown less fond of that as I see other ideas. Take a look at #35. The graphic portion is more dynamic with the circle elements around the shield. If you can come up with something a bit bigger than most of your current concepts (possibly over the top of the text like #46 so it can be comfortably larger since most of your concepts so far have the graphic element no larger than a lowercase letter) and with similar ideas of motion built in (swooshes or whatever), then we may have a winner. An active looking shield is probably better than an active looking padlock, if we're picking between stationary feeling objects.

Good luck!

I'll try to get something more abstract and dynamic in before the contest is over, right now I'm exhausted and need some rest, but I'll do my best :)
