Our Ideas & Additional Information
Humble Hostess is somewhere between fun and elegant. A fun logo in a similiar category is Swoozies (www.swoozies.com). Elegant logo in a similiar category are Nell Hills (www.nellhills.com) and Curious Sofa (www.curioussofa.com). Spoon Sisters (www.spoonsisters.com) is also an example of a store with similiar target audiance and a logo I like. We target women who shop at both these stores.

The Humble Hostess is also a character within the store concept. She offers etiquette advice, recipes, party planning tips, etc with each purchase. I'd like to see a character created.

Humble Hostess is starting off as a blog and website, soon to be followed by a retail location.

Products won't be cheap, but they will be affordable.

Just a thought...a universal symbol for hospitality is the Pineapple. I'm not completely sure it's the best symbol for Humble Hostess, but if anyone wanted to consider that element into a logo concept I think it might be interesting to see if it would work. Maybe a Hostess holding a pineapple?? Just a random thought.

I may have emphasized the classy and elegance a bit much in the brief and understasted the fun and sassy side. This is a place that women want to shop because it's interesting and a "happy place" but they also know they're getting high quality products and not cheap, everyone-has-it stuff. Hope that helps!

Also, I'd really like to see someone submit a character logo. I know it takes more time but if anyone could work on that it'd be great. I'll most likely extend the contest a few days to give extra time. Thank you!

thanks to Lindsey for turning me on to ColourLovers.com. Here are some palettes that I'm drawn to. I hope this helps

When it comes to pink, I like it with a bit of orange...coral.

Here's another thought...a bird. Birds are kind of a decorating trend right now and super cute. Possibly a tiny bird perched on the words.

I hope all my ideas and suggestions aren't making this more difficult for you all. I'm trying to be helpful but if it's all too much simply just submit your best vision of what a Humble Hostess is. Thank you!!
