What We Do
Insider House empowers passionate communities. From our flagship networking site for models and photographers, Model Insider, to our community hub for The Rocky Horror Picture Show, RockyHorror.org, our mission is to create, operate and grow communities of individuals who are passionate about their interests.
Color Preferences
We have one color that tends to be a theme through our web sites, which is a light blue with web #8BD4E5. Complimentary colors are more than okay, however. This blue has been used, until now, as a small accent color.
An example of our existing logo (and one from one of our community sites) is attached - note how the blue is used as the "dot" in the letter "i" in both.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Our existing logo is a very simple graphic of the outline of a house with the letter "i" in the middle. The existing logo has been attached to this posting. By way of additional example on the use of color, see the included file "Logo-400.png" which is the logo for one of our sites, "Model Insider." Note how the stylized "mi" uses the light blue in the dot of the "i" in the logo.
The concept I have in mind and would like to suggest is that we retain the idea of the house, with an identifying mark inside the house. The reason I'm thinking along these lines is that Insider House, as a company, creates and operates a number of community web sites. Each site could be branded using the house graphic and changing what goes in the house in a simple manner, much like Adobe has taken the color square and put one or two letters inside of it for each of their products. The thought is to take the house and put something inside of it to represent each of our sites, representing the concept that all of our sites are under the same "house." The text that names the site (in this case, "Insider House") need not be in any particular placement (again, the example given is just to show you what we have now, hopefully to make you say, "yeah, this sucks, I can do better!").
I do hope that makes sense, and I'd be more than happy to clarify if I'm not getting the point across! Then again, maybe I'm crazy. ;)
And if any designer wants to say, "That's great, but I have a fantastic idea that I think might be better," I'm all over hearing it! I'm not a designer by any means (I code web sites and leave the graphic parts to those much more creative than I am), and I'm totally open to alternatives. I've included the existing logo to give an idea of where we are, but I'm very open to better suggestions!
