Color Preferences
Open to a variety of colors, though pastels are generally not going to convey the right message. Craft beer colors of green hops, brown wheat/malt, sparkling golds of a well made pilsner, deep reds, may be useful, but open to a variety of ideas.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
The current website address is: http://growlerfills.blogspot.com

Designers should take a look at the blog/website site for reference purposes. However, the background and design of the site is likely to change in the near future so the design should be something that will adapt and can also be used for business cards, promotional materials, t-shirts, etc.

A "growler fill" is the act of filling a glass half-gallon jug (a "growler" - usually with a brewery's logo on it) at your local brewery with great craft beer to transport the beer somewhere else to enjoy.

The attached image/logo served as inspiration for our efforts. We like the way it combines the name of the business with the tap handle to convey what the business is about. However, while it serves as inspiration, don't let it hinder your creativity and we certainly don't want to infringe.

We have also attached an image of three growlers from one of our favorite breweries to give you an idea of what a typical growler looks like both empty and full of craft beer.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank a variety of designs to get a variety of entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested".
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked 1st - 10th. We like to earn points.
~~ After your contest closes it will enter Judging phase. You can re-rank designs in Judging.
~~ While in Judging, the designer ranked in first place can submit revisions

The first three designs (no longer shown) have helped us begin to get a feel for what we're seeking. The main focus should be on the words "Growler Fills" rather than being dominated by a graphic. We'd like to see designs that incorporate the tag line " - Craft Beer Enthusiasm - " into the logo (but may also go without it). Incorporating a growler or other craft beer elements should be secondary and might go before or after the words or incorporated into it like the sample logo we attached as a file. The logo should not appear cartoon-ish or whimsical, but professional or perhaps trendy. Thanks for taking on the challenge!

#7 certainly represents the kind of logo we're seeking in terms of focusing on the name while incorporating the other elements to compliment rather than dominating. Nice work highlighting the name while incorporating both the slogan and tap handle/growler. We're thinking a positive logo (rather than a negative color version) will translate better to products like t-shirts, business cards, stationary, etc. We're also wondering if this could be easily incorporated into a beer label style? Not sure if that will work, but would expand the theme. We're enjoying the experience. Let us know if you have questions or suggestions for us.

#10 We're liking the tap handle and incorporating a growler being filled rather than a drop would be fun to see. A more modern/professional font as in #9 more closely fits the blog/site as we're dealing with current events, trends, etc. in the craft brewing world. Great to see some variety and we'll continue to think of ideas.

Thanks everyone for the added logos. Here's some notes to give you an idea of what we're thinking. #9 has an accurate representation of a growler and the action associated with it being filled from the tap plays very well with the name of the blog. The growler is a bit too subtle, though, and might work better at the end of the logo creating a more linear logo. #10 has some good possibilities because it has a bit of a beer label theme with a readily recognizable tap. The more european old-world font, however, does not reflect the current, modern, cutting edge nature of the blog. #12 opens up the idea of moving the graphic portion to the end of the logo which might work well, but cursive fonts aren't quite modern and professional enough and a bit too feminine. We like the creativity shown in #14 and #15, but it starts to move out of the professional look we're seeking and think a more standard looking growler would be more recognizable to our readers. Questions for us?

We're liking elements of #16 and #17 (particularly the bigger punch of the words in #17). The growler in #16 lacks a bit of the action present in #9 due to the lack of a tap handle. Growlers are typically angled for filling to reduce the head, so there might be an idea there to work with. #10 continues to have the most readily identifiable tap while #9 has the most accurate growler with a good stream and head on the beer.

#20 has the best tap handle so far. very realistic and recognizable. appreciate the creativity with the growler as well. Overall, a bit too western for our blog which is intended to convey a modern, professional, smart feel to it. We're enjoying the entries!

A note to all. We're really liking the designs and want you to know that the rankings in the top 10 don't mean much from one to the next - which is to say that all of the ones in the top 10 are under consideration. As we have mentioned to some of you, we can see different logos working very well in different situations so we're torn between several different options. The bubbles in #29 and #30 really took things up a notch and added a custom look. The oval shaped ones of #32 and #33 added a new shape to the mix that we quite like. #7 and #9 continue to have a very cleverly incorporated growler and a great professional look. Thanks for your work. You're making it tough to decide.

Thank you to all the designers. This has been a fun process for us and you have made it difficult to decide. We continue to like various designs for various purposes and are in the process of making our selections. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
