What We Do
The American Trucking Associations (ATA) is a federation of about 70 specialty organizations representing the trucking industry of the United States. One organization is the Government Freight Conference (GFC), comprised of representatives from the trucking companies that move freight for the federal agencies. More than 50% of the federal freight we move is in support of our men and women in uniform, but also includes emergency relief under FEMA, and any other supply chain need by any of the approximately 140 federal agencies. Truck drivers and other personnel in this part of the trucking industry are very patriotic, pro-American citizens who take great pride in the safe and timely delivery of supplies that are vital to sustaining the various activities of all federal government agencies. The trucks we use are what most of the public calls "18 wheelers," that have 3 axles on the tractor (power unite) and usually 2 axles on the trailer. We are not the trucks you see with 2 or 3 axles (a "box truck"). The standard trailers we use are 53' long. Our culture focuses on safety and service. We prefer a modern, visionary logo, vs. a more traditional or "Old English" type of motif. As we are a very pro-American group serving the federal government, preferred colors would red, white & blue, but all color schemes are welcomed. If you have questions, you may contact me at: bwanamak@trucking.org Thank you for using your creative talents to devise a logo that is representative of what we do.

Color Preferences
Probably Red, white & blue because we support U.S. Government Agencies.
But all color schemes are welcomed.
We value artistic reach and creativity that communicates what we do.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Each of the 140 agencies we service have their own medallion logo; obviously too much to include all. So we're looking for a way to consolidate all the agencies into one symbol, likely the US flag, possibly covering the side of a 53' van trailer, our most common type of trailer used.
The acronym GFC (Government Freight Conference) prominently displayed, would be very desirable. Ideally, both "GFC" (prominently displayed) and "Government Freight Conference" visible and readable. If you go to www.trucking.org and see the Intermodal Motor Carriers' Conference (IMCC), the good parts are its color scheme, and that the acronym (IMCC) and full name (Intermodal Motor Carriers' Conference) are all there. What I don't like about it is that it looks old, dated, and you cannot read, "Intermodal Motor Carriers' Conference." The truck image should be more impressionistic and modern so it doesn't keep looking older with every passing year.
