What We Do

"Go Foster!" (exclamation included) is an organization dedicated to improving the foster care system through three primary activities: (1) recruiting families to become new foster homes, (2) supporting families already serving as foster homes, and (3) researching the optimal approach to recruitment and retention (i.e., support) of foster homes.

Color Preferences

Colors are flexible, but it needs to look clean and professional. A blue paired with black/gray, maybe red paired with black/gray, perhaps with a small hint of another color (yellow?), but not too many colors mixed together (again, simple, clean and professional).

I've seen a lot of logos from other tournaments that are blue and green. Strong preference against this color combination.

Our Ideas & Additional Information

Urgency is key here. Some additional themes could include: (1) reaching into a dark, chaotic world for a child's sake, (2) hope emerging from darkness...you get the picture.

One note, however, please stray away from anything that could be interchanged with a day care logo. We want to emphasize urgency and need.

One other thought, we would also like a favicon that either is the exact logo or or derived from the logo.

It occurs to me that a lot of designs have a circle-type image included. Would be interested to see how these circles look when used as the "o" in "GO"

Also, I should point out that one of our missions at Go Foster! involves doing research and data analysis on foster parent recruitment and retention. Perhaps someone has some ideas for how to incorporate data analysis themes into a design?

And on more thought...

We are realizing that all caps might be preferable as the lower case "p" in "foster" kind of makes it look like it says "Go Faster" from a distance. We probably want to avoid that! Or, perhaps instead of all caps, we could play with different fonts that visually differentiate the "o" from an "a" a little more.

Would also like to emphasize how fostering can provide strength and protection for children. Would love to see some designs that really emphasize a masculine sense of protection, shelter, etc.

Hello Everyone,

We were hoping to see any design with 3 people represented (eg #26, #27, #70, #74 , #83, etc) where the three people are each a different color.

Specifically, we would like to see the colors: flat/matte blue, flat/matte green, and flat/matte orange.
