What We Do

We offer virtual administrative assistance for businesses who wish to outsource admin or marketing projects. We are "go-to-girls" for any and every task for executives.

Industry

Service Industries

Top Three Things to Communicate

#1 - Bold - we're not your typical admin/receptionist that answers the phone and orders lunch, so we don't want this to blend in, get lost, or be boring.
#2 - The logo should be trendy and modern - and should follow "Girl Friday" (ex - a feminine flair would be nice)
#3 - We ONLY do business/office related assistance - NOT personal tasks. We are not a concierge service and don't want to come across as one.

Our Target Audience:

Generally, our clients will be high-level executives of small to medium sizes businesses of any type (any business or industry that could feasibly use admin or marketing assistance).

Color Preferences

Since we want this to have a feminine feel to it, my preference would be pink along with black or brown.... but I am certainly open to other shades such as light blue, purple, light green, etc. Basically, I just don't want results to come back with uber-masculine colors - like anything resembling the Transformers logo.

Hey EasterJen I'm confused at what GirlFriday does and why there's so many girlfriday business'. When you say "we're not your typical admin/receptionist that answers the phone and orders lunch" what are some of the other things you do with your business? Will help with getting ideas for your logo. Thanks :o)

Hi Blue Chomp,
First, thanks for your submissions! To answer your question, we work with companies who are not able to bring in a full-time admin (usually due to cost) and offer administrative and marketing services while working remotely. This provides an alternative to companies hiring someone for 40 hours/week, providing office space, and paying for that employee's benefits. We work on a retainer or project basis - meaning that we are willing to commit to someone for as a little as 5 hours/week... or we can take on one-time projects such as a mail merge, assistance in creating marketing collateral, planning and facilitating an event, etc.
Girl Friday is likely a common name since its a term pulled from the Robinson Crusoe. "Man Friday" was Crusoe's servant/assistant - the female idiom for this term has become "Girl Friday". There was a famous movie released in 1940 called "His Girl Friday" which added greater creedence to the term, as the female lead character was the male lead character's "go-to-girl" at the newspaper where they worked.
Let me know if you need more info - hopefully that will help!
