We build scientific instruments for the specific detection of biomolecules that glow with long persistence after treatment with rare-earth reagents.

GaTor 4D in red, the glow of the phosphor used in this technology is commonly red, the light used to excite the red glow is usually ultra-violet, so a blue or violet colour would be good. The advantage of this technique is that target is seen in high contrast against a black background so primary colours suggested would be red, blue / violet and black.

The instrument uses a well known (in the scientific world) technique called "time gated luminescence". The product essentially is a temporal filter that only allows light with long persistence to pass through the shutter. The "T" in GaTor should be the tau character which in physics is often used to represent the time variable. The use of an hour-glass that splits a continuous bar of light into a _ _ _ interrupted stream might also be useful to indicate the pulsed nature of the light after it has passed through the temporal shutter (which we call the GaTor 4D). The 4D represents the fourth dimension or time. I am not locked into any of these concepts though - feel free to explore all avenues
