Expedition SelfLogo Design Contest

I am happy to describe the site in more detail - it will be a social website where the community will have various groups that are "issue" specific to join. Much of the content will be self development concepts that I've created over the past 30 years - members will be able to attend webinars and engage in surveys, polls and interact with other members about the process. I am partial to purple and chartreuse green but would want to see more color integrated into that to make it really work...

Additionally, I will be releasing a book that summarizes the "marketplace" of activities and launching a magazine to accompany it... this will be tied to the site...

Also, morepurple.com - not up and running yet will be created as a family community website over the next year... we created that logo on the tournament site - I think you can view it for insight about my tastes... thank you for your help...

I had a dream last night that I'd like to share with all of you - it was a black marker drawn person "Looked a little like Diary of a Wimpy Kid" in color - there were lavendar shaded bubble/pillows under each foot and it was clear that his feet were depressed into the pillows - when I woke I thought about it - the idea that a person is walking in self development - I could change the colors of the bubbles/pillows in each section of the community site - even - leave animate the person as they're walking leaving small bubbles of the color behind... like oil when you drop it into water - just thought I'd share it - I like the use of multiple shades of color - more depth - if it doesn't ruin the design of course... don't know how this'd look designed... but what the heck :)

A while back - an artist created the word self to look like a 3D mountain - just a thought to share - wondering if any might picture this as of interest - person was scaling the side of the 'S' - :)

Current ranking of top 5 would be 22, 26, 18, 11 &. 4 - as of 11:27 am est :) thanks for your efforts

I've added a logo that was created here by Enzyme that will be shown within the site alongside of the Expedition Self logo - it won't say more purple now - but I thought it'd help with colors. Some other thoughts to help in creativity... this is a community - of people - so although we're guiding people through the self development process - the site itself is focused on a creating a space for this community to interact - - also - I'm still interested in symbolic ways to represent an "expedition" - the journey - the unexpected movement within the self - the reason I went with this logo was because it represented the many aspects of the self - the idea that they're all different but inter-related - just as more info... thank you for your contributions -

Wow! I'm just blown away - you know - part of what's so difficult is there pretty to look at - inspiring or compelling - now I have to think about the site and what best symbolizes and represents the purpose - it's raison d'etre... so to speak... thank you so much - I don't really understand how the next step works since the last time I did this - we had the whole 7 days and you didn't narrow it to 5 designers - but I'm thinking that will be interesting to be able to really "hone" the designs until there are 5 A+ choices... so thank you - to all of you - for sharing your talent with me - I've been building to this juncture for 30 years - it's the first step in a very long path sharing my self development thoughts and activities with others - I have much at stake in this - and it's my first foray into running a community based website - okay - enough of my chatting... :)

I'm off to clients so I won't be able to provide any more feedback or rankings before phase one is done - thank you for all of your submittals - I have some very hard choices to make...
