What We Do
In an age of curated (Expensive) workshops, lifestyle gatherings with teachable moments and networking as well as pricey boutique workshops, former Food Director at a major magazine—Nancy Hopkins—will pull from her "to-die-for" resources to create a host of events ranging from cook book parties with prestigious authors, tastings, conversation salons, workshops and more. All to showcase her beautiful home, cottage, and grounds, The Eastman House.
Important: The Nancy piece is equal to the house piece. These events do not just represent another cool location. They could not happen without Nancy. It is the combo of the House and Nancy. Equal Footing. One fuels the other. The events would not be distinctive without Nancy.
The Target Audience is affluent women in the know. Mostly in the upper 30-s to 70's. Most will travel to these curated events though there will be some talks and workshops for locals. The events will be sophisticated; worth a spend. A cool factor; insider spirit.
The Eastman House is widely know in the region though many have never been inside. Important tidbit. Bristol, where the house is located is famous for it's Bristol Sessions that happened in the 20's. People come from all over to learn about the Bristol Sessions. (Background: Bristol is the birthplace of Country Music. Everything happened because of the Bristol Sessions.
The word Sessions must be used and will help draw recognition.
Color Preferences
The House is English Style & Design. I prefer black but it's features are actually a deep deep brown. So colors such as Deep Mocha, Deep Charcoal, Deep Navy, Deep evergreen, Cordovan also work in place of black. My point, black can sometimes lack something, a la style and personality.
My favorite color is also Ballet Pink or whisper pink. I always love bringing this tone to black or mocha. Adds feminine touch without being overkill or syrupy.
Lastly, Eastman House is fresh, not old. I am not trying to be English Manor. We are also, trying to shed it's known "antique" history. We live here. Want the message to be vibrancy, creativity, modernity. Perhaps a hint of green could find its way.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
I do rather like:
1. the notion of a "seal" for Eastman House
2. a simple line drawing of the Eastman House
3. a light touch with type or freshened coat of armor
4. Most of the events will be Culinary in spirit so a nod to a fork/spoon could work, but there will be thought-provoking groups such as
Fierce over 50; gardening; table-setting, more.
5. There is a total "influencer" spirit to all of this.
