Hello to all designers!

Just a reminder that we require the following things in our design:

1.) No more than 3 colours, as we will be taking your CMYK combination and matching to a Pantone PMS equivalent.
2.) May we please have some form of reference to the UK/England. (Royalty, Buildings, etc)
3.) Please try and stay away with any reference to apples or any form of fruit as we will be producing a further range of flavours that will be represented in the packaging we produce.
4.) Remember that we're wanting to stay away from the universal perception of tradition from cider and prefer a contemporary and modern feel.

If you have any questions or would like clarification on our brief, please don't hesitate to ask!

Kind Regards,

Wade

Hi Guys and Girls,

Here is some examples I like the look of still taking in mind the brief and the descriptions above:

These examples display a contemporary twist on cider which I like. However I don't want directly relating to the type of cider.

4.) http://www.boxvox.net/images/2008/05/12/cider.jpg
5.) http://www.girl.com.au/img/strongbow.jpg (notice that the colours display the different varieties and flavours of cider).

These examples are nice but still seem to display tradational design.

A starting point for anyone stuck:

The meaning of 'Duke':
(1.) In some European countries, a sovereign prince, without the title of king.
(2.) A leader; a chief; a prince.
(3.) In England, one of the highest order of nobility after princes and princesses of the royal blood.

Thanks,

Hi Guys and Girls,

Thanks again for all the submissions so far.

Can I please have some samples based in a crest or emblem?

EXAMPLE: http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/logo/j-r-photography

Please make sure you take into account all that is written above in the "Contest Description" section.

Hi Designers!

I have decided to extend the contest based on no entries in 4 days...

Please have a look at this examples I have found.

http://www.gomediazine.com/wp-content/images/2008/02/design-small.jpg

Please combine the blue red and grey with modern and old aspects such as a crown, lions, taxi cab, Buckingham palace guard etc... Don't hold back! The more creative the high chance you have of winning!

My thoughts so far:

#36 is perfect in terms of crest/emblem but I would like modern aspects added to it as described and shown in linked examples above.

Colours - I would like to stick to are red, blue, black/grey.

I'm trying to stay away from the 'traditional stigma' that comes with cider and to aim it at a younger demographic. So incorporating a modern type face or a mixture of new and old in the crest/emblem is a must.

Can't wait to see what you guys come up with!

Hi Guys,

So I have narrowed this down to the top 4 entries as shown above but I still feel that the criteria hasn't been covered.

Can someone from the top four please (Entries #36 #58 #52 #24) add more modern aspects of the UK as described numerous times in the 'Contest Discussion'.

Please ask me if my instructions are not clear.

Anyone else willing to give it a go is welcome to, but PLEASE following the guides.

Thanks and good luck with the remainder of the contest!

Regards,

Wade
