I want to incorporate the 'hexagon' as the abstract shape the defines the logo. Actually (for weird theological reasons related to the Trinity), three hexagons related together would be awesome.

The tri-hexagon is nice. Colors inviting. I'm having a bit of trouble making out the slogan underneath. Might be that I can't enlarge it fully in view mode, but I'm wondering if the font is a bit too ornate/busy, perhaps even a bit too small. What I have in mind is to place this across the top of the blog site running the entire width of the page. So I've got lateral room to spare. But I don't want to eat up vertical space needlessly, so if the tri-hexagon ran behind the text perhaps, that would save me vertical space.

In addition, the 'three' hexagons reflect the Trinity (it's a theological community blog for academic folk), so I want to maximize the symbolism. If you keep the 'one in three/three in one' of the Father/Son/Spirit in mind, it would be nice to try to capture that somehow in the figure. It's a hexagon for other weird philosophical reasons I won't go into. ;o)

Let me offer a thought for all you fine designers that didn't get expressed in the contest brief. Open theism is a theology about the free creativity of God. The future is 'open' to possibilities, not locked into a blueprint. I love the clean-cut and elegance of the designs so far. That reflects the academic side of this blog. On the other hand, divine creativity suggests "life" that "emerges" out of things, and "surprises." Perhaps a bit of green, like the green of tree leaves (the oval shape of leaves) worked into the hexagon? Just thinking out loud.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation.
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

1st place - 50 points
2nd place - 20 points
3rd place - 10 points
4-6th place - 5 points
7-10 place - 3 points
10th on - 1 point

My apologies for limiting the rankings to 10 positions and moving the rest into "Not interested." My bad. Misread the instructions as limiting me to 10 ranked finalists. I also might have overused the "Not interested" as a way of keeping viable winners (and duplicates) down to ten. All the designs were good. Several were excellent. And the choice between the top three was hard!

I hope to use you all again!
