Our Ideas & Additional Information
I want this to be simple, easy to read but makes an immediate statement that has a feeling of pleasing aesthetics that go along with beautiful photographic imagery. Think about when you would open up a web page for a photographer when you are looking for someone to take photos of your baby, or you as a couple or family and how the inital reaction of the logo and main image on the home page should make you feel. It should be a feeling of warmth, creativity, confidence, beauty and excitement to have me take your photos! I am leaving the sliding scale between modern and classic right in the middle because that is what the logo should be, a perfect mix of modern yet timeless....

Hi! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked in the top 10. We like to earn points.

~~ NOTE: While in JUDGING mode, the designer ranked in 1st can still submit revisions.

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

I am liking what I see so far. Just a few comments on what is working for me to hopefully push things a bit further:

- I love the use of different complimentary fonts in #15. Also I like the compsition. Only thing I am still not loving 100% about this one is the circle. Looks a bit stiff for my taste which is why this one is currently ranked 4th place.

- Like the fonts in #17 but the colors might not be strong enough to make a statement. Also like the pictoral mark but I am sort of on the fence about if it is getting too cutesy for me? Maybe part of that could be helped by using bolder colors.

- I like #7 but in this one I am also on the fence about whether it is too cutesy for my taste. I think there are definitely places this type of look can go though that are not quite so cutesy and more sophisticated.

- What I like about #3 is the bold use of colors and the idea of using something that relates to photography in the logo. I am just not totally sure about this exact use of the d/a that are sort of combined into the same letter but not quite. To me is just almost looks like it is an "a" and not the "d" & "a" at the same time. I don't want anyone to have to look twice to "get" it. It should be a quick first read.

- I like the pictoral mark in #2 but I think the block of color makes the whole thing look too heavy. Also the fonts don't look strong enough for my taste. I think they sort of get lost in the shuffle here.

Overall I would like to see more of a variety of fonts and Pictoral/Abstract marks. I would love to see some that use abstract marks since so far there haven't been any. Sometimes the abstract ones are the best! Seeing this first round has made me very excited to see the next batch!

I would love to see more DIFFERENT types of designs. I do like the ones coming in but I still haven't found "the one" yet I don't think. Think more abstract. My favorite font is the one used in #15 for "Andrews." Love the look and feeling of that. Maybe try to think of something abstract that could visually compliment that font or something similar. Thanks everyone!
