Slogan

Building Bridges to a Lifetime of Learning

What We Do

The DeKalb Library Foundation, a non-profit organization, seeks to provide support to the DeKalb County Public Library beyond their public funding sources and to enrich the lives of DeKalb County citizens through educational, cultural and literary programs and services.

Industry

Non-Profit

Top Three Things to Communicate

#1 - Libraries enrich the lives of individuals through educational, cultural and literary programs and services
#2 - Libraries serve individuals throughout their lives - from toddlers through senior citizens; the library acts as a "bridge" to greater learning and personal improvement throughout one's life
#3 - Libraries must provide services to a diverse population of citizenry who might otherwise go unserved

Our Target Audience:

The main objective is to target potential donors who will give money to the Foundation. These would likely be more affluent citizens of DeKalb County, Georgia, who are active library users and place a high value on the importance of literacy and reading. A secondary goal is to generally convey the purpose of the Foundation to the public at large since most county residents and library users don't know about our organization or what we do. DeKalb County has a culturally diverse ethnic population that speaks 90 languages

Color Preferences

Primary: green
Secondary: purple; orange

Our Ideas and Additional Information:

Originally, we wanted to incorporate the idea of a bridge - possibly a bridge of books. We also liked the idea of people on the bridge, maybe representational of different life stages (child, adult, seniors). However, it is important that the logo reduce to a small size (appearing on an envelope or letterhead for example) and still be clearly defined and recognizable. A such, we want to keep the idea simple.
