I’d say generally we’d fit best into the 18-35 market (although I’ve had people from their teens to senior citizens say they like our music, but if I had to choose, definitely a younger adult crowd)
Listeners of pop/rock music, but much more sophisticated than Brittney Spears. People who would like bands like Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Maroon 5, Jamiroquai, etc.
The lyrics tend to be thoughtful and philosophical, so I’d be also targeting people with those traits
Color Preferences
I am inclined towards orange/purple/yellow/red/ blue but I don't want to limit your imagination here...
I think I only want two or three colors in the logo
I would like for the logo that represents my band to have a cool, funky yet legible font and to also have associated with it an icon or character of some sort that would be associated with the band that fits the vibe of the band – dynamic, soulful, jazz&funk infused rock ( good examples of icons would be Jamiroquai or Rolling stones logos).
I checked several styles above b/c I don't care per se if the logo is an emblem or how exactly it is laid out ... I am more concerned with the following :
NOT corporate, conservative or cartoon like.
I do want it to be original, cool and funky looking, creative, unique and clever if possible....

Diamond Contest
We're sorry, but this contest is presently open to a limited pool of designers.
First, thanks to all the designers for your entries thus far. I have been trying to give timely feedback and will continue to try to do so, but I wanted to leave a general comment which I hope will be of some help.
I tried to answer for myself the question "what exactly am I looking for in this logo design?"
So first I asked myself what is this logo design being used for?? Why do I want a logo?"
A few things came to mind... "to solidify my musical identity visually" and "to stand out"
However, I have become aware of a more fundamental reason for the logo...to move merchandise. This logo will be put on T-shirts, CD's, posters etc. So the thing to think about is what would ABSOLUTELY compel you to pick up that CD and buy it?...or at very least want to hear what was on it? What would make you want to wear that T-shirt? and wear it like a badge of honor? ( Of course keeping in mind the target audience of teens to 30-somethings and the genre of music...ie : Soulful Rock infused with Jazz and Funk)
For me, (as of Jan 17 @ 3am) it is still the very 1st entry that would make me want to buy the CD or T-shirt. It is very cool. It has a mysterious strength. It also has the dynamic energy from the color scheme. I'm not suggesting at all that everyone go and copy usotofu's idea...but rather I'm trying to give you the most general concept to get the juices flowing.
So there you go...MAKE ME want to buy David Easton Band's CD!
