Entry #3 -- this is a nice design, with a inventive abstracted piano, but seems to me to be more of an CD cover artwork than a logo per se. Perhaps even if I don't take this as a logo at some point could use it as a CD cover!

Charcoal, your latest entries ( #12 & #13) are nice. I like the font and the layout is nice. I unfortunately have to give you the same feedback I gave tapelogo414 regarding entries # 6 & #7...I am a keyboard player and being the leader of the band, it wouldn't really work to have a guitar in the logo. :-( If I were a guitar player this one would definitely be on my shortlist though...you should hold onto it for the right occassion

David, thanks for taking the time - glad you like it, besides that one major flaw :)

I'll keep that in mind if I use an instrument in future designs.

This idea is to create a symbol rather than an illustration of DEB. Something memorable. That wow factor you're talking about.

#36 -- your keyboard/instrument based ideas are the most inventive of anyone else's so far. I'm still not sure it's what I need for a logo though

Thanks - I had to include all the ideas in case one struck a 'chord' (sorry!).

I'm trying to discover something left of field that 'just works' but I'm not sure what it is. I think band logos are quite a challenge from my experience in the past. Being a creative thing the logo needs to be absolutely right. I'll keep thinking on it though!

Playing with the idea of the iconic retro microphone with piano keys...
Type style - looking for something modern that has a bit of a retro edge when put together the right way. This typeface goes well with the lines of the microphone.

#44 maybe the piano keys are too obscure - to the untrained eye!

#44 -- this is good, but i think this one would be better suited to a recording studio?...I didn't see the piano keys until you mentioned it.
