We want some sort of emblem or pictorial mark as part of the logo, but it should not be the entire logo. A good example is the NBC peacock. The peacock can be separated from the name and used on its own, for example, as an icon for a mobile app. Also the name "Christohpe's To Go" needs to be in two pieces. We plan to expand our business to have other "Christophe's" branded concepts, such as "Christophe's Kitchen", "Christophe's Cafe", "Christophe's Grocery", etc. The word "Christophe's" needs to be the central piece of the word logo and then the following term - To Go, Cafe, etc - needs to be a different piece of the logo such that we can replace that term with a different term using the same font, color scheme, etc. We want consistency so that the main brand "Christophe's" is recognizable but also the following term needs to be very highly visible so that a customer will very quickly know which kind of store they are entering. Also the logo will be universal. It will not change between concepts. You can go to
http://www.christopheskitchen.com to see the current operation and get a better idea of what the business does. We plan to expand it significantly, but the core concept is the same. Also do not feel compelled to stick to the current logo and color scheme that is currently on the website. All of that will be redesigned based on the colors in the new logo. Finally, Christophe is a native of France with many years of high-level culinary experience. His food is not exclusively French, but you might use his background as an inspiration for your design.
