Dear ShnickStudios,

Thank you for your entry. That is very nice. I would really like to see the woman's shape from my link incorporated in here, and maybe a different combinations of colors? If we can make the name stand out more than it is here, even by writing it outside of the shape... that would work. Thanks for your time. I do appreciate it. Good luck! :-)

Best Regards,

#34- Yippee! Thank you for adding my artwork to the logo! That's what I was waiting for. Let's try a picture border with more rounded, curvy, uniquely shaped edges rather than a semi-square. Or designs and flourishes that reach out horizontally to almost line up with the length of the name. Here is a very rough sketch that we had come up with. http://senduit.com/3a0ff5 On the right image, the puppy serving as the crest is dressed as a knight, but that was just a brief idea. We decided that the shiba inu should not wear a helmet. Feel free to play around with these ideas.

Thank you again for listening to my descriptions. If I don't give comments between 8:00 and 5:00 cst, it is just because my work computer blocks me from that function. It is able to rank the pictures, so I'll do that throughout the day.

Also, I really like the bold, eye-catching colors of #10 and the black font of the name. Let's assume that this will always be on light or white backgrounds for now. If you need links to any of the images I mentioned, they are in my main page or comments. Thanks.

#40: This is lovely! Way to go incorporating the shiba inu in a subtle manner. Let's try using two or more colors in the whole thing. Possibly a slightly different hue/value between the woman and her background? Thank you.

Great! Here is a color revision for you.... (the .doc file with the download you posted for color suggestions; I am unable to open it due to mac; windows issues...if you have another jpg that would be great so I can get your colors just right.) Thanks, ~D~

I wanted to make sure you saw my comments relating to your drawings in the main comments page. I want everyone to be able to benefit from the information I give, where it's centrally located. So I will try to post all of my comments there. I always reference your #, so you'll know who I'm referring to.

However.... while I have you.... I noticed that the lines of the girl's arms are not exactly the way I drew it. For instance, in this logo #53, her own right arm sort of gets puffy as it gets near the elbow. I'd like to keep it slender as it glides down to her elbow. I want to make sure it doesn't give the wrong impression that she her right arm was amputated. Her left arm (the back arm) elbow is also a bit undefined. It puffs out on the top line where her forearm meets the elbow. Could we add more of a defined point/edge/triangle to both of her elbows? I know we can work out all these details in the end if you win, but it kept distracting me, I'm sorry. :-) I'm going to ask the group if we can do the woman in negatives (as in photos).

So, I'm going to try to keep all my comments to each person in the main comments page, so that everyone is able to follow the path we're headed. Thank you again for your time.

Here is a jpg version of the color document: http://senduit.com/ed975a There is a wide range of options, so feel free to be creative with nice colors that compliment eachother: some bold ones to go with a lighter one, so that there is contrast between things.

Hi, ok, I'm sorry. I think we want to stay away from this type of font. For some reason it makes me think of the writing that's sometimes painted on cars' back windows. We want elegant, classy, but a little modern at the same time. Could we stay away from the font being faded this way? I will try to find some font examples that I like tonight and attach them.
Thanks for fixing her elbows. I know that even in my drawing, there is fine line to indicate that her right arm is crossed across her chest, and not totally amputated. Still, is there any way you can include that tiny sliver of forearm that shows that she it's just going out of view and not lopped off? I believe in my drawing that it's somewhat visible.
On the mantling: Could you play around with some different styles of ornamentation? We're not totally sold on the exact look of this. What about some embellishment that looks like ribbons, or vines, or whatever else you think. I would love to see many different options, some that come out further horizontally, some that seem to overflow from the top, etc. I will try to find some examples when I get home. :-)

Hey D,

#95 - The font is better, but reminds me of "Barbie" Can you you try a few other fonts, and please remove the color fade and the diagonal slant of the name. Also, this color scheme seems to be too child-like. Can you experiement with more sophisticated shades - rich purple with soft blue accents, also feel free to try others you think might work. In addition, could you try accenting and highlighting with black and gray?

Could you also try putting some textures behind the female form on the crest (ideas: repeated "b's" behind her figure, unique patterns that would provide depth, reflections creating a curved look mimic-ing a shield.)

Thanks again for all your hard work!

Great job with the font. I really like these slender letters. Could we have the girl's hair all one color, maybe blonde?
In general: I'm not sold on turquoise being The Blue we use. I ultimately want rich, vibrant shades of purple and blues in this logo, -ones that look good with purple. We also could use a more popping, brilliant shade of purple if you think that would look good.
Inside of shield: #86 by blink has a potentially good blue shade in the shield. If you made the striped wallpaper using this spectrum of blues, alternating a lighter shade (as they have in the middle) with a darker shade (like the outer edges), then that might look good. If you think a different blue would look good, feel free.
Mantling: Something is reminding me of Cinderella's stagecoach. I'm sure it's just a matter of placement/shape that makes it look that way. All in all, great job! We are making progress. Thank you.

#109- we like how at the lower-middle half of the drawing, the swirls are spiraling upward instead of downward. That is one change in this version that is different from the others.

#110- we like the top mantling of this... with the addition of the puppy's image. The curls on either side of his face are not necessary.

Could you put a line of separation in between the woman's skin and hair? The blonde hair blends into the peach skin, making it look a little odd. Also, could we have a more golden shade of blonde than this one? It seems a bit too pastel. We like #86 's blonde color.

Color Schemes: we identified two potential shades of blue/purple that could be promising. These are from any color wheel- # 6505FD with # 680486. And # 3F1285 with # 9851AD. Please play around with these two pairs. It might look good to make the stripes in the shield alternate these instead of having just one color. We would like to combine these as much as possible throughout- anywhere you can think of, so that it is cohesive and makes sense together.

There may be some unintentional dots/splashes of color in random places of the mantling. I don't know if this is an error or design effect, but I'd like to see it without.

Text: I would like to see the writing in a regular purple, with a blue shadow. We really appreciate all your time this far. These look EXCELLENT.

#111- Well done! Love the background stripes, coloring in mantling, hair color. I notice that with this particular hair color, it tends to blend in alot with the background color and look sparse. (You can see the stripes in between her strands.) Maybe instead of really "filling out" the hair more, you could just insert a thin, subtle outline of the light yellow (former hair color) around her own hair sections. That way, it will help her color stand out from the background.
Could you change the shadowing under the woman's breast? It creates the illusion of a long, tubular breast shape! Haha. My eye kept sticking to that in each drawing, but now I think we're to the point of "tidying up" things.
This is a tiny thing- could we sharpen the pointy-ness of the shiba inu's ears? It may just be the zoomed out view, but they seem more soft and round at the top. They are the right height, just need to be pointed.
You have done a masterful job!! We really really like what you've created. Thank you!!
P.S. Could you insert the "TM" by our name, please?

I am so sorry - I posted a comment at 5 CST and just now noticed it did not post.....grrrrrr
#123 - the front arm seems to resemble an amputee especially in the smaller logo format. Can you use your design talents and expertise to correct that? Perhaps create a more distinguished elbow and forearm crossing her body? Sorry again that this is getting to you so late. Sometimes LT logs me out inadvertantly.....irritating. Thanks again for your hard work.

#128... this is almost there. could we plump up the forearm a bit out from her body but still leave the crease to show that they are two separate parts of the arm? we want it to be clear even from a distance/if the icon is small. thank you so much.

Dear D,

I like everything about your picture, how it looks more "artistic" and traditional, rather than looking like it was done with a computer. It looks like it could've been painted with a paintbrush. And something about the style in which you drew her hair and face reminds me of vintage 1940's pin up girls- but not overtly. I really like that. It's really hard to put into words. I know that this is my fault for drawing the sketch from the angle I did, so I apologize for that. My husband and I keep looking at this image, fixating on her right arm, wondering if customers will think it is an amputated arm. That is really the main reason why we're extending the contest. I'm not completely satisfied with the image the way it is right now. I'm guessing that you're probably a very talented artist, so I wonder if you could play around with different positions for her right arm. (Up, down, or even have the girl displayed from the back/side view as #140 has it.) I want to keep her hair and that same neat, stylized way you do. I just wish I could see some more options. If we have to go back to the "invisible forearm" version, then we might be able to live with it. I like everything else about your logo. I'm sorry for the flaw in that sketch drawing. I guess things really do look different from zoomed out view. Thank you for everything.

Looking good Deanna!
#152 - can you raise the shiba inu head up just a bit and add in the front neck line similar to the way the head looks in #78

Also, any ideas on how to make the logo pop if sitting on top of a blue or purple background? Would we just layer it over a white oval for example?

Were you planning on submitting any new designs? I was just curious since you requested one of the original images. thanks again! :)

Dear Deanna,

Were you still working on that idea you had? We are in Hawaii right now, so it's 8:15 p.m. here and we're on a different time schedule obviously. So if you don't hear from us as usual in your morningtime, that is what's up. We'll check it when we wake up and try our best to coordinate with you on the final tweaks this week. If we're not able to connect, we'll definitely be in touch by Sunday or Monday. Thanks for your hard work.

#195 - this version and #152 still look the best to us. Can you reduce the nose size (the actual black part) for #195 to look more like #152, and extend the mouth line back but without making it a smile.

Once we get the right profile, we will play with the overall size and orientation since we dont want the shiba head larger than the girl's
