Capital equipment manufactures hire independent manufacturers sales reps - our model is similar to that for software and technology companies. We have the technical infrastructure for these companies to outsource or supplement sales and marketing; we also sell and implement the products we use as consulting services.

Comments Update June 14th:
Several submissions play on the blue collar and tie. The connotation that blue collar is to make is that of a hard worker - think hardhat, steel worker, construction - in a typically white collar world.

I like the idea of an abstract hard hat with a tie built in to a professional fonts. I like a technically oriented pictorial if it communicates work ethic. It should say we work at selling technology like steel workers work at building a building.
