I made the kid very happy and the colors are very upbeat and has a very urban feel. A sewing needle can be added as a logo on the kid's shirt or hat.(This comment references Entry #8) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer Here's a version with the kid holding a giant needle and thread. I think the "bear threads" idea comes through a little better.(This comment references Entry #9) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer Here's another variation with the same urban kid. If you have any feedback please let me know or post it to the contest board. The more feedback you provide the better logo you will get!(This comment references Entry #11) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer This version is a little more edgy and touches on activism and social change through fashion(This comment references Entry #14) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer another variation showing youth social change, etc. The text is more legible than the graffiti versions - and still has an urban look(This comment references Entry #15) 15 years ago Dr. Brown Client Briscoe,I love the direction you are taking.Right now #14 resonates the most for me. Can we try adding some color and giving the kid a mohawk. Thanks for the effort. Like I said, I really like direction you are taking.Mikaila 15 years ago Dr. Brown Client Ok, sorry for two comments back to back. (I just found this feature)Scratch the mohawk, looking at the original logo, the hoodie works for me. But definitely add color, and can we get more detail in the kid's face. That should be it for now;-) Thanks again for your effort. 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer Here is a new version with different colors. Because of the moodiness of the overall design - I'm trying to be very cautious with the color combinations. I've added a different color for the face which helps highlight the face a little more. I'll try a few different facial expressions in the next round.(This comment references Entry #17) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer A slight variation of colors - again being cautious not to ruin the image integrity with too much color.(This comment references Entry #18) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer I wasn't sure about this color combination at first... but now that I look at it more and more it's growing on me.(This comment references Entry #19) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer less "moody" but a more pleasant color combination(This comment references Entry #20) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer like the original but with a bit more detail on the face and defined "splatter" shape(This comment references Entry #23) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer Hi. Here is a new version per your color and subject suggestion. The green downplays the "splatter" mark and silhouette of the urban boy. I left his shape alone since already is in the "black power" pose. To be honest it was Charleton Heston's famous speech to the NRA "...pry my gun from my cold dead hand..." pose combined with moody youth protest images that led to that shape/idea.(This comment references Entry #24) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer Here's a series of more dramatic images. The darker background really pops out the silhouette of the boy! And the "Bear Threads" stands out much more!(This comment references Entry #28) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer At first I wanted to avoid using red as the "splatter" because it might be interpreted as blood... but it really makes a strong composition(This comment references Entry #29) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer with just red. I'm going to withdraw some of my previous entries to clear up the thumbnails a bit.(This comment references Entry #30) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer I started to feel that the splatter mark (though dramatic) was a bit over bearing and distracted from the message - so I'll submit a few without the mark to see what you think(This comment references Entry #31) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer a little bit of a different composition(This comment references Entry #34) 15 years ago Dr. Brown Client I am liking the one I ranked in first place. Can you try another font? I don't love the one we have now. 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer Here's a bit of a new direction. I've added some baggy pants to make a full figure within the words Bear Threads. I think it's a strong composition.(This comment references Entry #46) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer ...another one more colorful(This comment references Entry #48) 15 years ago Dr. Brown Client I Really like #49! Thanks so much for the changes! They really pack a mean punch;-) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer Here's one more entry in the same series that I've been working with. This one includes the boy's hand subtly holding up the baggy pants. This is a fashion that uniquely represents, and is identifiable to your target audience. My wife offered the criticism about my earlier submissions that they don't show a connection to fashion or clothing in any way. I think she's right - which is the reason for the baggy pants and overall look which I believe conveys your message clearly and carries your brand. I won't be able to submit any new designs until after the contest is over (Tuesday). After the contest is over, the top ranked designer can still submit new entries. (and you can switch the top ranked design any time - just an idea if you want to see more variations of this design)Good luck with your logo!Briscoe(This comment references Entry #67) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer Glad you extended the contest! Looks like you've got some good submissions!(This comment references Entry #109) 15 years ago Dr. Brown Client I really like the new submissions with all those colors, and I am glad that the character seems more finished. However, I worry that it looks like his pants are sagging and exposing his rear. I think its funny and culturally appropriate, but I think that funders will be offended and assume we support booties on the street. Can I have a version where either a t-shirt hangs down over the pants, or the pants come up higher?Thanks;-) 15 years ago Briscoe Logo Designer I convinced him to put on a yellow t-shirt and pull up his pants ;-P(This comment references Entry #114) 15 years ago
