Top Three Things to Communicate

#1 - Authenticity- this company is owned by snowboarders who like to shred just as much as their customers and act the same way and not only understand but are a part of the ski and snowboard culture
#2 - Passion- at BTG we have a deep love and passion for snowboarding and skiing (back-country and terrain park) which translates into our products
#3 - Quality/Durability/Longetvity- only manufacture the highest quality product because we only sell what we would ride with ourselves

Our Target Audience:

Demographics: Age is 18-34, predominantly males from areas within driving distance of Ski Mountains. Some college education to College graduation.

Psychographics: Our Target customers are young and energetic core ski and snowboarders (ski/snowboard at least ten times a season). They enjoying riding in the glades and back country as well as the terrain. They are loud, boisterous, fun loving and rowdy. They love to ride with a group of friends on the mountain and some will drinking a few beers while doing so on the chairlift or Lodge (Pabst Blue Ribbon). They like the "cool" factor that comes with action sport brands but do not respond well to brand that seem to be trying too hard to be cool.

Color Preferences

The main colors for the company are Burnt Orange and Black which I would like to have be the primary colors utilize for the logo.

Our Ideas and Additional Information:

For this logo, I want it to be inspired by back-country skiing and snowboarding. I will be using it as a company logo as well as using it for apparel and stickers. Attached are some logos I am a fan of and the current logo I have (I do not like the hand sign and plan to get rid of it for this logo, please do not let it influence your design).

The main thing I want this logo to convey is that this is a company run by snowboarders and skiers who ride and love the sport just as much as its customers

Finally, while I do want the over all logo slightly complex I will also need to be embroidering a simpler version of the logo onto gear like gloves and snowboard jackets. The logo and its embroidered counterpart do not need to be identical but I would like a design that allows for a simpler derivative of it for embroidering

As far as some idea's I've had I think working in a mountains outline and or trees into the logo would be good.

I like where a lot of these logos are going. I think an Emblem with a slight retro feel to it is the way to go. I've found a few links of ski/snowboard related emblems that might inspire you

(I just snagged these guys from google images, no copyright reference only)

As for the center of the emblem I like the simple abbreviation BTG designs. I've been toying with the idea of having an X in the center with BTG in the left top and right spaces with either a mountain outline or trees like in that Ski Sundown logo I posted

(here's an example of what I mean)

How goes it yall. Great work from all of you guys. From what I've seen I've finally been able to sketch whats been in my head I and have loaded it onto my page under the file name "Current logo idea". Again Ive been envisioning it as a vintage style badge

The for the trees in the design I want them to be in the same style as the ski sundown logo

http://skisundown.com/Portals/0/logo.png

They are my local ski mountain and I am try to pay some homage to them with this logo. For the center coloring im not 100% sure. I think orange, none, or a wood like brown may work. Feel free to play around with It and see what you come up with

Thank you again for all of your hard work!

Dear BTG,

I see that you have recently posted a new idea for the logo design entitled "Current Logo Idea".

If I am mistaken, please let me know, but it appears that you are asking designers to use elements already submitted by other designers such as the gear shaped emblem from kowen and the crossed skies, initials and mountain from ninet6? You are also asking that designers copy the trees from the skisundown logo which unforunately, even though you want to pay hommage to it, without their permission could be interpreted as an infringement of their copyright.

If you read under "Client Guidelines" posted below, it states that it is against LT rules to ask designers to use elements from another designer. Again, if I am misunderstanding something, please let me know.

Sincerest Regards,
Faith
