What We Do
Austin Hi-Tech Restoration is an insurance repair contractor who (1) rebuilds homes that have been damaged by a fire or a flood, (2) provides structural drying services to homes that have been affected by a flood or a water event, and (3) cleans and deodorizes the personal items within a home that have suffered smoke damage (this is called contents cleaning).

Color Preferences
Our current logo is a (slightly grayed) Royal Blue (see the old logo and it's color attached). We have always been ROYAL BLUE, so I was hoping to transfer that forward as our main "Corporate Color". If you would like to add additonal color then feel free to. Now you guys are the experts, but I was told that additional colors should be equally strong and create balance. As an exaple I was also told that Ocher would be equally strong and would provide "balance". While I agree that Ocher and Royal Blue make a nice color combination, this is only a suggestion and in no way is a preference. If you think that adding ANY other colors would be good then please give it a try, I don't want to limit you.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
I have attached my old logo. I am hoping to incorporate the curvy lettering that spells "Hi-Tech", so see if you can figure out a way to work with that. I just want something that looks professional and wasn't patched together using Microsoft word (like the old one was). I feel compelled to stick with the "Hi-Tech" lettering that is from my old logo because after 20 years it has earned a lot of local brand recognition. For that reason I am hoping that the the curvey "Hi-Tech" lettering can remain prominent within the new logo design. So I am hoping for a way to use that early '80s style "Hi-Tech" lettering and fit it in creativily with "Austin" and "Restoration". Let's drop the "Inc." unless you can find some good use for it, I think it just makes things busy and doesn't add much. I like banner type logos that are more horizontal than vertical. But we mostly have this logo embroidered above shirt pockets so I may need to look at one that is a horizontal banner and one that is more compact (less horizontal). I selected 4 possible "styles" from the list above because I didn't want to limit you. I would be happy if you tried anything. Also, I would like our tag line, "Restoring lives after a loss", to be included as a part of the logo. I am hoping to have that included in some way so that the tag line could be removed, if necessary, for things like embroidery work above shirt pockets. The print on the tag line might get to small to be used for that (I think). Anyhow, I definately want to see the tag line as part of it, and it is completely fine with me if the tag line is included in a way that would not make it easy to remove. I'm going to select the logo that looks the best and includes the tag line, we can always make a seperate "logo" with the tag line removed if needed. Thanks so much for all of your efforts, this will be fun!! - P.S. - I wrote all of the above prior to looking at some of the wonderful work the designers have created and posted in the "portfolio" on this site. Although there are many good branding reasons to incorporate the old "Hi-Tech" lettering into this new logo, I belive I would be doing my company a disservice if I didn't look at the wide range of ideas and options that you guys might come up with. So with that being said, incorporating the old "Hi-Tech" logo is a BIG PLUS, but at this time it is not a requirement to win this contest. In the end, I will be looking for the most professional, creative, eyecatching, and memorable logo.

Logo Designer
Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank a variety of designs to get a variety of entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested".
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked 1st - 10th. We like to earn points.
~~ After your contest closes it will enter Judging phase. You can re-rank designs in Judging.
~~ While in Judging, the designer ranked in first place can submit revisions

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

I have attached to my Brief two .pdf files which are slightly different versions of our old "Hi-Tech" logo which we are hoping can be salvaged in some way. The letters on the image in the first attachment have squared off corners, and the letters on the image in the second attachment have rounded corners. Feel free to use either version as you see best for your design.

Concerning color and as described in my Brief, I would like the dominant color within the logo to be "Royal Blue". The first attachment on my post (Word doc) uses a color that is very close to what I want, and entry #4 also has a very similar color. I will soon post a RGB reference or a Pantone Brick to help describe the exact color that I am looking for and that way everyone will be on the same page. The color in mind is a wee-tad grayer than the two examples described above.

Thank you everyone and keep the designs coming!

EXACT COLOR FOR THE LOGO

The dominate color on the logo needs to be:

PANTONE:
C : 87
M : 50
Y : 0
K : 0

Michael 79 was kind enough to share with us the Pantone color that he used on Entry #4. Please make this the dominant color on the logo.

I also downloaded a free eyedropper tool from http://instant-eyedropper.com/ and when I ran the eyedropper over entry #4 it identified this Pantone as HEX #0F74BC.

I tried to convert Michael 79’s Pantone # to a HEX # but the results I got back were lighter than the color I’m wanting. There must be some issue with using one of those conversion calculators. Anyhow, if you use Michael 79’s Pantone color then we should be on the same page. You can always double check it by downloading the eyedropper above.

Thank you everyone and keep ‘em coming.
