Our Ideas & Additional Information
1. Look at the Inuit Drum image. food for thought...
2. The screen shot images are of my competitors.
3. The attached image is similar to what we've used in the past. It is of a Yup'ik power symbol from the Yup'ik Inuits from southwestern Alaska. Three of the four members are Yup'ik and the fourth member is Inuit from Greenland. We're not stuck to the power symbol, just thought I'd pass it along...

I like the font on #6 - most of our music is cultural/traditional, and this works well as a mature look. #9 has a more modern look, which is hip; I just don't like the font on it. We want to be the most prominent and powerful Arctic Voice Records ever...

You're making me wish we did more on vinyl. Unfortunately, that'll send a wrong message 'cause we don't. Fun though...

Yay... I'm so excited to review the first designs.

I chose Entry#6 as #1 because of two main reasons: First, I like the landscape layout, 'cause It'll work better on the spine of a CD. Second, I think that the words Arctic and Records are well balanced - great job. With that said, I'm not a fan of the waveform image, but overall this design is working for me. Check out the Note at the bottom for more of my ideas.

I chose Entry#1 as 2nd because I like the use of the AV imagery. I'm also intrigued by the Yup'ik power symbol, but I wish it was more dimensional; could this one be made more partial spheric? like looking at a backlit top view of a planet, while incorporating the power symbol, or other symbols?

Note: I like the blue, white and gray, but I'd like to see a little color flare to balance out the arctic vibe. Also another image that could be fun to play with is a Yup'ik hand drum. Basically if you take the power symbol and take away three of the outer lines, that what one looks like from the top. Its a circle drum with a handle; just like the power symbol though, I'm not a fan of the straight on look. I want offer a new perspective with this design. When I googled: Yup'ik Drum (images) it quickly came up with a bunch.

As for the not interested ones: I felt the images were too literal. With that said, the microphone intrigues me, but it would have to be more abstract for my flavor.

Wow. This is so cool. I appreciate your super quick and clever work. I hope to see your designs again. Quyana means Thank you in my language:) Alaska out!

Entry #19 Very creative. I can look at it for a long time and it still works for me. Thumbs up.

Entry #6 I still love the type. Its balanced and strong. I don't like the waveform design though, but everything else is great. Could you duplicate this logo and play around with the image?

Entry #14 "Polar Bear" super creative! Once I got it I was pleased, before that I was confused. I'm curious to see this concept more though and other brilliant ideas like this...

Entry #16 There's some things going on that I like and others that I can do without. Please, keep'em coming though. Could you make the image more crescent versus a full-on circle?

I'll be traveling for the next couple days to a remote village in Alaska. I'm sure that the school has internet, so I'll definitely be checking the designs. Sorry, if it takes me longer to rank and respond. Thanks.

Yay! I have internet connection here (Chevak). I'm gonna start sharing the designs with the owners and just want to say a big thank you to all of you. I appreciate your creativity! We are all very excited and of course I've grown attached to so many of the designs. Not sure what direction were going so... good luck to all of you.
