The client base which we serve specifies or buys luxury door, window and railing products. In general it is a predominantly masculine group who design and specify; however it is predominantly a feminine group who choose final design elements and placement in homes. Our aim is to strike a balance between the masculine and feminine appeal while making a firm statement of our affiliation with luxury brands. We're also not entirely hung up on "blue" as a driving characteristic but we identify our firm most closely with the values criteria described by the blue category descriptors. We'd also like the versatility of using the logo graphic independent of the title, "Architectural Impressions" in instances where the logo in its entirety might be too lengthy.

The submittals, thus far, are great. It was difficult to rank only six of those submitted. Keep them coming!

I like entries #7 and #16 because they are very simple and, I think, memorable. Entry #7 is my favorite so far because I think it depicts the luxury/feminine themes more than other entries. I really like the entries where an attempt has been made to convey window and door but none of these type have sufficiently conveyed adequate luxury nor tie to the idea that it is generally a woman who makes the final product selection. I would also be very much interested to see entries where architectural elements might be used to convey the letters "A" and "I". I might also like to see the use of fonts that are distinctly architectural.

Thanks for your entries!

Hi everyone. I'll rerank the entries in a couple of hours. Thanks to everyone for their entries. I am very impressed and, although difficult, I look forward to selecting a winner.

Hi everyone! Thank you all for your continued interest in helping us design our logo. The entries have all been great and it will be difficult to choose only one. A couple of things have occured to us throughout the day as we have judged each of the entries. Firstly, we have provided individualized feedback for each of the entries. I hope you have found this helpful. Secondly, we can say that perhaps we were incorrect when we chose the color blue to define our business characteristics. In reality, we have enjoyed seeing how color can change the overall impression of the logo. Please don't hesitate to use color if, in your artistic judgement, it can enhance the visual effect of our logo design. Also, be thinking of classical architectural themes in your logo development. Quite surprisingly, there have been only a few logos with an ever-so-slight degree of classical architectural styles present. We have really liked the attempts to utilize a window and door as elements of the design. I am hoping that there might be some way to build the logo in this manner. I hope that this is helpful to you. If you would like any additional feedback, please don't hesitate to be in touch. I'll respond to you as quickly as possible.

Thank you all for your efforts. We're really pleased with what we're seeing.

Regards,
Neil

Good morning!
Once again, thanks to each of you for your entries. In discussing the quality of the entries thus far, we have noted that no one has attempted to play up the "impressions" aspect of our company's name. We'd like to see how this might influence your design revisions and submittals going forward. For example, a reflection, or shaped drop shadow, something that insinuates an architectural "impression" as if it was letter pressed or embossed. I hope you will give this some thought and attempt to convey a very balanced entry that does not emphasize "architectural" to the exclusion of "impressions".

Neil

Hi everyone. Only a little over one day left. There are a few things that I would like to emphasize as you consider additional entries or variations of current entries.

1.) Colors blue and brown are not important. We think that we may have mistakenly identified with the color blue in our initial application. Our choice of blue characteristics may have inadvertently limited more creative color options. Our client base in the architectural community is generally traditional; however there is room for a more whimsical interpretation. Please use your creative talent and good judgement to strike a balance between traditional and whimsical. Color variations have been a pleasant surprise and we hope to see more colorful ideas than are currently represented.

2.) We are a luxury products distributor. Only logos that convey an adequate sense of luxury can be considered.

3.) Our clients are architectural specifiers. A successful logo will resonate strongly with architects and builders.

4.) Our customers are highly affluent and are not buying our products based upon need. These are products they want because the products project their status, affluence and extraordinary success. Because our products are highly custom, very often we are creating a one-of-a-kind solution.

5.) The feminine gender plays a highly influential role in product selection for our business. Our logo must have a balance of appeal between masculine and feminine with slight emphasis given to the feminine influence in product selection.

6.) We are looking for a clear balance between the ideas conveyed by the term "Architectural" and "Impression". Please do not emphasize one aspect to the exclusion of the other.

Best wishes to you all. Thank you all for your excellent entries.

Regards,
Neil
