805ConnectLogo Design Contest

The logo on http://805Connect.intronetworks.com is a temporary thing. It had the name and a slogan. We will want to change the slogan, so we only need to convey 805 (the area code of the region) and Connect (I'ts a social network for business) and the region - some sort of outline of the coast... not sure - be creative. On that page you will see that there's a large format image in the center of the page and one in the upper left. We will be reusing the graphic in a lot of areas, for instance, we may choose to do photos on the main page and just use the new logo on the upper left only.

It must appeal to young, hip, startup entrepreneurs, feel very modern. The one in place is old, and boring.

In looking at how this is turning out, I think that no one has figured out how to design an icon that captures the regional aspect of the network. While we are not the entire state of california - just three counties, the state map is inappropriate - however, the smaller sub-section of the coast just looks like a blob.

I think that 805 (our areacode) will have to do, unless someone figures it out.

So, start thinking of an icon that implies CONNECTION - some are starting to do that.

We can add a Map or something like that to the website and make it bigger so let's move past the map.

final hour - Let's play with COLOR. We love the blue/green, it speaks of ocean, sky and mountains - however, maybe it needs some brown? some grey? a different blue? Let's see what you got.
