Our Ideas & Additional Information
The logo is for t-shirts that will be bought as a commemoration of a group meeting that will be held in September. As part of the meeting will be visiting the islands in Channel Islands National Park. The headquarters for the park is in Ventura, California. There are 5 islands within the park - Santa Barbara Island, Anacapa Island, Santa Cruz Island, Santa Rosa Island, and San Miguel Island. You will find a wealth of photos of the islands within the park on the park's website - www.nps.gov/chis/. In addition the working group focuses on botanical issues so the logo should reflect that as well. There a number of photos on the internet of iconic plants within the park. These include: island Torrey pine, island barberry, island oak, ironwood, a number of island manzanitas, Hoffmann's rock cress, island buckwheat, giant coreopsis, island tree mallow, etc. I've attached pictures of some of the plants that I've listed above.
