Hi everyone, thanks for the great response.

I now have a couple of other people ranking as well and am giving some overall feedback.

Our Conference Organiser particularly likes the ones with the "cleanest" looks for showing on a white background. He prefers the "scientific" look of some of the emblems.

We are both a bit worried that the theme "Impact through Collaboration" is generally not readable on the smaller versions of the logo. I think we need to be able to read those words and Melbourne more clearly - many entries we can't see that without enlarging and we need it to work on a small version. Alternatively, if it is too many words to work into your designs, maybe we need two versions? You are the creative ones!

Research Impact is a big issue in our circles at the moment. So I would love something that SCREAMED "IMPACT" if possible. Would a bullseye be too crass/obvious?
