Divert

We are a Solar Energy equipment supplier and installer who want to help free our Customers from their reliance on Grid Power providers. Of course, localized electricity generated from the Sun's energy is a 100% renewable power source. Our focus is on commercial customers (large warehouses, factories, production facilities and workshops) who consume the majority of their electricity during the day. We also have many 'residential' customers wanting more freedom from their power company, protection from more frequent power outages and to live a more sustainable lifestyle We are located in beautiful Auckland, New Zealand in the South Pacific. We experience very intense Sun light with high UV levels. A very high % of power generation here is already from renewable sources but some is still from fossil fuels. Electricity costs are very high and continually trend upwards. Extreme weather events are more frequent which has lead to an increase in the length of power outages too.

We pick up pallets (timber, plastic and cardboard) and polystyrene from warehouses, manufacturers, building sites and retailers. We aim to 'Divert' as much material from landfill as possible. We pick up pallets from businesses that have a problem with surplus material and on-sell and deliver them to businesses that need more of them. Damaged or unusable pallets are cut up for kindling wood or chipped up for garden mulch (they are untreated timber) We also pick up polystyrene from retailers (that is usually destined for the dumpster) and use a machine to compress it to 1/40th of its volume into briquettes - It can then be sent to recyclers. Another aspect of the business is that we 'sell on behalf' for businesses - We list surplus or unwanted items of theirs on TradeMe (New Zealand's version of eBay) and sell them on behalf Wherever possible we divert material that is considered waste by one user to another user who needs it and will keep it in use.
