The PEAC Boards & Commissions Program (pronounced "Peace") stands for Pueblo Engaged Advocates for Change and is a new strategic recruitment and onboarding program for City volunteers who are participating in boards and commissions.
Target audience would be those interested in civic engagement in the City of Pueblo, Colorado.
The City of Pueblo is also known as the “Home of Heroes”. This moniker was in a speech in 1993 by then Colorado Representative Scott McInnis as he spoke to Congress about the uniqueness of a city Pueblo’s size having a record four recipients of the Medal of Honor claiming Pueblo as their hometown.
With 300 days of sunshine annually, Pueblo is Colorado’s most historic and culturally diverse city boasts year-round outdoor activities, celebrated and varied dining options, one of only 12 state designated creative arts districts, and exceptional business opportunities.
There are over 30 boards and commissions this will relate to, including the Pueblo Energy Advisory Commission, Pueblo Human Relations Commission, Pueblo Memorial Airport Advisory Committee, and the Pueblo Golf Course Advisory Committee.
