In this logo, I reference the familiar optical illusion of color relativity where the grey dot in the center of each box is the exact same color and shade, but looks to be different when placed on backgrounds of differing contrasting shades. This concept is a literal play on the idea of your eyes "lying," and converted into a modern, sleek, simple, and extremely versatile logo.
Here is another optical illusion based logo in which the middle circle appears to float above the background. The affect is achieved by the differentiation of the pattern from horizontal to vertical, making this design at once visually dynamic and chic, easy to read, and simple to reproduce.
