Color Preferences
We are part of the larger YMCA of the USA organization which has design guidelines for the YMCA specific logo (not our Camp Oakes logo) including colors and color combination. We would like to follow the same color palette described on page 18 of the YMCA guidelines located here:

Our Ideas & Additional Information
-Needs words “Camp Oakes” as integral part of logo
-Must NOT say YMCA or use YMCA logo anywhere
-Could (but does not have to) incorporate trees, mountains, nature, youth, outdoor activity, action, etc.
-The camp is named after Roscoe Oakes, original cash donor back in 1958, NOT for Oak Trees
-Trees in Camp are Pinion Pine and Juniper
-Font should be somewhat powerful and pronounced to promote action, liveliness, strength
-Simple lines and keep it tight, not overly horizontally extended
-Logo needs to be easily embroidered and/or silkscreened
-Logo needs to work in color (combos) and black and white only versions
-The Camp Oakes logo should be stand-alone; it should not incorporate the new YMCA logo as part of the Camp Oakes logo
-For more on Camp Oakes, visit: www.campoakes.org

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested".
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for the Designers' hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

A few thoughts on the three entries so far and the overall design in general.
-please remove/do not use the slogan: "caring . . . "
-logo needs to work in color and in black and white and wants to be simple enough to silkscreen and embroider on clothing items
-looking for something with clean lines and possibly "representative" elements of nature (i.e. mountains, trees, etc.)
