Discussion

Hello mungki - thank you for your submissions thusfar. It's clear you're an excellent designer as they really do standout. Okay, so here's some feedback that is general and also logo specific:

I'd like to avoid having someone in 'freefall' as it is not obvious to what we offer. Either something abstract (visit http://www.skydivemonroe.com) to see an abstract view of a skydiving logo or someone under parachute would better allow someone to know what we are about in three seconds or less. The logo I'm looking for will do the following: a). have a person immediately know what we're about: skydiving (a parachute will accomplish this). b). Feelings that generate, excitement and speed along with warm colors for safety.

All of your designs are good but they all feel a bit too modernized / Star Trek-like with the emblems.

#3 - Freefall body position, I'd prefer not to use. So let's get rid of that. The emblem in the background almost feels like what would be on the uniform of a pilot or something high tech...not the right feel for what we're doing here.
Also, the font also feels too space aged and I really want the words Skydiving and Center to shine through. Too small.

#2. Again, a bit too space-aged. I recognize that the shape in the middle of the circle should look like a W, but it is not obvious at all. Would like to go back to the drawing board on this. Same responses for #1.

I am going to put these out of consideration, as it's a bit off, but like your design and would very much like to see more bold logos. I like the color choices you've made thusfar.

Good morning Mungki, thank you for these submissions.

#17 - The shaping of the canopy (parachute) is not quite right and doesn't look like a skydiving canopy.
#16 - This is also the case. The person hanging under the parachute looks a bit too similar to the skydive monroe logo.

To summarize, please view the parachute manufacturer Icarus to get a better idea of the parachute shaping.

Many thanks!

#26, #27, #25, #24 - Mungki - these are headed in the right direction. I'd like to see you modify the canopy in all of these designs. The canopy design you have represents a larger skydive parachute that are more docile and not too exciting. I'd like to see the parachute being smaller and being more in a turn. Have a look at the shapes of the parachutes on the icarus website that I've referenced in the case file. Ideally, have the parachute in a turn of some kind whereby the person under it is at an angle.

Specific feedback:

#26 - I like this design and I like how the parachutist is in the middle of the letter 'd' Let's change the shape of the parachute.

#27 - this logo is getting a bit too wide. Let's have the parachutist with a different canopy design above the lettering to widen the height of the logo. This would be a challenging logo to get on a hat etc.

#25 - too bright with the red background circle. Perhaps see this toned down or in a different color.

#24 - same feedback as #27

#29 - mungki - MUCH better on the canopy shaping...I'd say you got it! I'd like to challenge you a little more on this design. What is lacking in this logo is speed...high energy, EXCITEMENT. You've got the shape of the canopy down, but if you visit the website: http://www.pdfactoryteam.com/ and look at their logo, notice how the person under canopy there is executing a turn and it feels very high energy.

Thank you for your continued work!

Mungki - you're doing a great job. So as it turns out the colors RED and BLACK are very popular with the biggest university and is synonymous with the state of Wisconsin. Can you submit your logos with a red and black combination versus red and blue?

Many thanks!

Mungki - we are REALLY liking the design in entry #65. We would like to really start getting very definitive on the details of it.

1. Skydiver - The skydiver's body position under the parachute is not quite right. His landing position is that of an older style of skydiving known as accuracy. The image you have reminds us of this: http://www.bevsuit.com/images/z-Stu%20Metcalfe%20World%20Meet%202008.jpg

What we want to see is a body position that better represents speed. Notice in the images below the arm position is fully extended and the legs aren't about to touch down. See that here: http://www.flycookie.com/data/image/Team/Cameron%20Rolfe/Cameron%20Carving%20%20Lg.jpg

OR: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PfLPM2g-I7E/TbhL0R057rI/AAAAAAAAF_s/MQfwyRWoVMM/s1600/P4096951.JPG

2. COLOR - I made a mistake on asking for the color combination being red and black. We do like the dominant colors to be blue and red. We'd like for you to make the colors a little more vibrant. The blue is borderline being too close to black. We'd like the red to be more vibrant or 'alive.' Kind of like a fire engine red. The client would also like to see a couple of renditions that have a blue / grey / white combination as well so we can compare the two.

Thank you for your efforts thusfar! You've done an excellent job!

mungki - this is a great design. I like the skydiver flying towards the left. The body position is much improved. The canopy still needs just a little more work. It looks like it's flying in a direction slightly different than the direction of the person under the parachute is flying.

So, to summarize the thoughts with the parachute: The parachute should be shifted slightly as if it's flying towards the viewer a little more. (too much side profile for the angle of the skydiver).

The back profile of the parachute should be slightly thinner. Have a look at this image. http://knowledge.freefalluniversity.co.uk/images/swoop.jpg

Thank you for your efforts!

Mungki...we are very CLOSE.

1.Can we see the logo with Wisconsin written in red, not sure if top line should also change to red or not. Can we see some variation with that?

2. The skydiver's right riser / arm - or as you look at the logo the left arm/ riser needs a bit of touch up as the riser is sort of sticking out of the "D". There is some red stuff sticking out of the letter D

3. We like the blue!!
We prefer the gray used in entry # 33. - Can we see that added to it?

Many thanks!
The red seems still a bit too bright, but Bo doesn't want to end up with maroon. What do you think? Could it be that the red in #128 is better than #129? My vote is a touch darker on the red if possible.

You can call if you'd like to talk about this.

I gave various alternatives... in entry #131 and #132 bit darker red color, on entry #133 and #134 the red colour is same as entry #129... and I hope you are satisfied.
