#89 - I liked it better with the more impact on the barcodes. I'm sure we could get the balance right and make the code scannable. No need to make any changes. I like the variation you are showing.
#87 - I assume if this wins and we need to modify slightly, you can do that. Remove the red colouring, and make the warning black text on white background.
Artistically, I think you are right #120. but the SAWIS regulations want all the warning message to be white background and black lettering #117. I also notice the wavey line difference. I'd have to do more research if the wavey lines actually work and are readable. I prefer them to the straighter lines. What if the impact happened higher up so the bottom portion of the barcode is straight and the top of the code is all distorted? This might also give you an opportunity to embed the car into the barcode more.

Dear CH,
I've just noticed your brief and updated my entry. But, we're in judging mode and according to the rules of Logo Tournament only the 1st ranked designer can submit updates. So, i can submit my update if u put me at the 1st place temporarily.
OK, will do, but here is also what I suggest: Move the car up: it can rest on top of the letter box that has the two line phrase "Don't drink and Drive...." behind the crashed car put a simple Black and white police car. http://www.flickr.com/photos/25643444@N08/2406710653/
see the barcode.tif I just uploaded for an example of what I was thinking about I like all this new work, but what I liked about the current top ranked logo, is that the image and bar code are all one thing. By moving the car up, and putting the message below the car, we can get a clear bar code, and get a car destroying the barcode by plowing through it. Another Designer also had an image he was going to upload, I will make him number 1 so he can do this, then I will make you number 1 again. I want to work with you to make the image right and win the contest. Thanks.
Thanks missed your comments when I made mine above. Yes, this is what I want, however, the barcode image should be top and bottom, no breaks. It can be shoved aside, plowed over, and broken by the car, but it needs to be the same barcode upper and lower. Also, make the line under the police car extend under the car as well. Thanks, Steve
Unfortunately language is getting in the way. I like #133, but not the way the barcode is cut in half. The car has crashed into the barcode and smashed the bars. You should see this impact above (as you do), and a little below. I like wavey barcode in #116: if only the car, and only the car, was like it is in #133.
#134 is the closest to what I want, put more impact to the barcode like #116. Also clean up the police car a little so we can clearly see "POLICE" on the side.
OK, I think we are done. I just have to wait to hear back from SAWIS regarding an OK on the image. They may have slight changes.
Once we have the final image would you repeat the design for the following numbers: 6009802274002 6009802274019 6009802274026 6009802274033 6009802274040 6009802274057
These represent my 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 vintages. Thanks and great job!
I think I got the OK from them. Tell you what, just upload the one year's design: we'll worry about the others after Wed of next week. The actual SAWIS meeting is next Wednesday and the preliminary feedback I got did not mention the warning (which is a good sign). I watch some other CH contests and it mystifies me when they don't understand why they are not getting participation. All the best, Steve
ysomenez - could you rescale one of the paint.net images so that it is the actual printed size of the bar code? I'm having trouble reducing the size myself and getting the same print quality. The actual barcode should be about 37.29mm X 25.91mm (W x H). That dimension is from the outside of the first number (6) to the outside of the last stripe in the barcode. Your image will be about a 1/3 wider. Thanks, Steve
