Color Preferences
Green, grey, and black. See colors here:
www.vegaconsultingllc.com We are not entirely committed to these shades/tones and are open to slight variations. But we like the general combo of green/grey. Any other colors that could work with those are welcome.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
1) The current site is placeholder but is directionally what we are thinking for basic design and colors (not the logo - we need to change it!). http://vegaconsultingllc.com.

2)We are open to the use of a star (Vega is the name of a star) BUT we do not want to over emphasize the connection between our company and outer space. We may use the term "stellar insights" as a speaking point.

3) We are wide open to more abstract marks and believe that might be the better way to go in the end. But... you are the design experts!

4) Looking for treatments of the word Vega in CAPS too (e.g. VEGA)

Hi designers! I look forward to seeing what you can do. I will try to be very responsive on feedback but I will be offline for ~12 hour stretches a few times during this contest so... be patient with me. I'll certainly be able to comment a few times/day.

Also, I am coordinating with another partner on this so I'll try to consolidate feedback before posting.

I look forward to working with you all.

Mogeek - Thanks for the entries!

#1 - Too star trek
#2 - I like this a lot. A favorite at this early stage. It is abstract but like a 'V" and conveys transparency. The color is good.
#3 and #4 - Nope. Too much like sno flakes!
#5 - I'm not a fan. Looks like a book
#6 - I like this. It is perhaps a little bit too "Web 2.0" but it's cool. #3 is less "glossy" so I'd rank it higher. The shadow implies that we could not show this on a black bacground which is the current site design. That may be OK (we could move to white) but just thinking out loud.
#7 - I really like this look. Could you do a version that is slightly less "modern". The "E" in Vega looks over designed to me. Gratuitous. But the general mark and the way you've put it left of Vega consulting is good. I think the word VEGA wants to be green. Could you inverse the colors? So the "V" in the mark is green, the crescents are black, and the word VEGA is green (and again, simplify that "E").?

Alto. Thank you.

#8 - Not a fan of the mark and proportionally, it dominates too much. I'd like the test and marks to be a bit closer in size.

Thanks!

Hi all. I'm going to continue giving feedback. Please forgive me if it sounds cryptic. I know you've all worked hard. But shorter comments means I can give more and more is better.

#9 - not right. too blocky. might expect more polish and "style"
#10 - Interesting and unique. I like it.
#11 - not right. Looks too much like a Phoenix bird.
#12 - Hmm.. first real "star" entry. And perhaps a good example of why stars won't work. It's a little plain.
#13 and #14 - Mare - I've seen other great work you've done on LogoTournament. Nice to meet you. These would be great if we were in the business of video games ;-) but they are too "cool" and "mod" for a high end consulting firm.
#15, #16, #17, and #18 - these also look a little too much like they belong on a video game. They are XBox like. The mark is OK, I guess. But it reminds me a little too much of nuclear energy. While I like the concept of energy in general, I don't feel these convey anything about our business.

Keep them coming! I'll check in again in about 10 hours.

Thanks

Mare - to clarify on #13 and #14 I think the thing that i do not like is the multitone gradient and the font treatment (which is too modern). The shape of the mark itself and the idea of stacking VEGA on top of Consulting have potential.

#19 - Interesting but not right. there's a little too much going on and the mark is way too big relative to the text.

All - I just ranked the first 18 entries to give you some directional feedback. I still like the relative simplicity of #2, #7, and #6. And #10 is growing on me. I still have not heard from my partner on this so I'll try to aggregate his thoughts and get more general/direcional feedback posted tomorrow.

Thanks for the hard work.

#20 - Thanks for your entry. It doesn't convey the refinement, luxury, and complexity we're looking for. It may be a bit too simple.

I think the font treatment of #24 and #25 are very good. They look refined, professional.

I'm looking at #1 again. I like the concept of the V stylized in a simple/strong manner within an enclosure. I just don't like the speach bubble part. I wonder if a similar V on some simple background is a good way to go - especially if married with the font of #24 or #25.

One of the things I like about the V mark in #1 is that is has some star like characteristics (without being a star). it is sort of three points of a star but is sill an obvious "V" .

All - While I think the mark over the text is attractive, I'm beginning to think that having the mark left of the text will be better.

#12 - I just brough this back. Despite my comments above, I like the idea of continued examples of the us of stars. The colors and font are good. i like this shade/tone of green.

Thanks all. Keep them coming!

All - I am not ranking again until I hear from my partner which may be tomorrow.

I like the mark in the latest entry #38.

I'll be offline until possibly tomorrow morning. If I get a chance to check in later tonight, I will.

Thanks all. Keep them coming!!

#42, #43 and #44 have some good potential.

#42 - the star is simple but approachable.

#43 - The V inside a box with stars is a good concept that is worth exploring more.

#44 - A V and a C in a single combo mark. Cool idea.

Creative space - #45 - #47 interesting marks but the colors are not what I'm looking for. I prefe the green and grey combo referenced in the brief.

Thanks to all!!

All - I want to reiterate that I am looking for more refinement and sophistication. That doesn't have to mean complexity. But the logo and mark should convey a level of experience, professionalism, and excellence.

I think Mogeek is closest to what I'm looking for (esp with #2 and #22) but I see strong potential in Romasuave (#35, #38, #39), Orbis (#12), and Mare (esp. # 42 and #12). As I just mentioned above, I like the direction Aremmai is headed with #43 and #44).

Keep them coming. I'll provide more feedback throughout today.

Thanks to all.

I'm seeing stars. And Ilioke them!

Some of my favorites are: #56 I like this direction. #60, #61 and #53. Good ones. In particular, I love the subtlety of #53 and the relative simplicity of # 53 but ilike the "offset" nature of #56.

#59, #60, and #61 all do a nice job of suggesting a "V" and a star. Great direction to experiment.

It is getting harder to pick winners which is great. There are some reall good choices emerging here. I haven't ranked since this morning but will do so again later today.

You are all sending great work! Thanks!

All - apologies for the delay in feedback. We like #80 a lot. Star with a V in it. I encourage you all to think about similar designs in the next 2-3 days. We also like the fonts/styles which mogeek has been using. Esp #3 and #5 and especially the way he's used the open “A”).

I love the new creativity I am seeing too. Thanks to all.

I just re-sorted and will do so again late tomorrow. i may be offline until very late tomorrow night.

Thanks again to all for the great designs. I just re-ranked based on my latest review.

I am meeting with my partner tomorrow and we will talk through these options and I'll do a final ranking before the end of the day (Wednesday PST) which will give you all one final day to put the best work forward.

I am really impressed with what we are seeing. Great!

Thanks.
