Our Ideas & Additional Information

It is very important for us to have this logo look as polished and professional as possible. Our products are built with an emphasis placed on form factor, utilitarian use, and innovation; which should be reflected in the logo. TWe would like to have some type of monkey incorporated into the design, it can be a cartoon, silhouette, shadow, whatever you guys can think to incorporate a monkey into the logo, I'll leave it up to you.

Can you give a Brushed steel 3-D monkey head type logo a try?

To all the designers out there, my two partners and I are hoping to find an awesome logo that can grow with our business. We produce high end vaporizers for the phyto-inhalation connoisseur. I am motivated to push this type of technology because I benefited greatly by being able to vaporize my medicine without combustion.

As humans, we have used herbs for thousands of years to help with various ailments. We made ointments, tinctures, and in some cases, combusted the herb in order to receive the active ingredients. Vaporization gives you a new method to inhale the essences and actives of medicinal herbs by gently raising the temperature of your herb so that the medicine is released in a vapor form without any combustion.

This technology has been around for 2 decades but I feel that with our new product, we can make a push towards the mainstream by offering different herbal mixtures that could help with allergies, relaxation, and give you a natural boost of energy by combining ease of use with an appealing form factor.

I look forward to seeing all the submissions!

#1 thank you for your submission Residence. I do like how the "X" is accentuated but not necessarily the purplish color image next to it. Maybe try a monkey of some sort to go along with the "vapeXhale" portion. I also eliminated the slogan as my wife thinks its contradictory to the company name. What are your thoughts on that? I personally thought the slogan played off of the company name and balanced it out but she didn't seem to think so. I'm open to suggestions.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation.
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

1st place - 50 points
2nd place - 20 points
3rd place - 10 points
4-6th place - 5 points
7-10 place - 3 points
10th on - 1 point

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

Thank you to all the early entries, I am very, very please with what I see so far! I was under the impression that I would only get entries closer to the deadline so I woke up this morning very happy to see 11 entries!

My request for a professional, high end logo couple with a monkey to give it that "fun" feel is difficult to achieve. I wanted to just throw out one suggestion that I think could make this work. If we keep the word "VapeXhale" looking very modern like #2, and thrown in a monkey shadow where the tail interacts with the letter "X" like #4 but position the monkey leaning against the letter "E" making the letter slightly crooked and then have just the eyes and mouth (with a mischievous smile) in white might make a compelling looking logo. If you guys could give that a try, I'd be very appreciative.

Great work so far, I'm very excited!

Hey Seiboshen,

I'm just lurking on the background a bit until I come up with a good concept... May I ask you what a monkey has got to do with inhaling a medicine? I know the founder of the company likes monkeys, but that's a little contradicting with "It is very important for us to have this logo look as polished and professional as possible".

Good luck in advance on finding a logo that suits your new product! :-)

Kind regards,

Robbert, thanks for the feedback. I understand your confusion so let me try and clarify. While I am looking for a professional look, what I was tryin say was that I don't want something that looks overly cartoony and targeted towards teenagers. You can combine an animal with a logo and keep it looking classy like the Ferrari logo. I really like entry #22 at the moment. That is the look and feel that I am going for but I do not want to limit your design to this as well but could be a good starting point.

While this is a medicinal device, everyday people can also use it to vaporize common herbs like mint, ginseng, valerian, so we didn't want the logo to look overly medical. Just didn't want it to look like it was geared towards a younger demographic.

The Apple logo is a simpler style that we would like to emulate as well

Let me know if u need any additional clarfication.

To all:

The monkey is (to make a long story short) part of our branding strategy.

However, one suggestion/request I have is that he (she?) look more mischievous - almost sarcastic. Probably difficult to capture in a graphic but perhaps a sly wink of an eye coupled with a wry grin.

Hopefully that's not too vague.

Thanks all for the good work. Very encouraging.

On the haik74 case: contest holder, you can't hold yourself responsible for this. You gave feedback. The designer knows he's not allowed to copy.

He should've came up with something unique which still would comply to your wishes. Designers are also given a day or so to withdraw their entries when someone wants to start a LogoCourt against them.

This website also should make those designer rules more obvious to the contest holders. You're not to blame at all.

Thanks Robbert!

Just wanted to give a big thank you to all the designers that decided to tackle this project. I know it is different than most of the tournaments on this site and probably I haven't done the best job communicating what I want but after seeing some examples, it is really starting to take shape.

I look forward to any additional updates in the next week, thank you once again, we at VapeXhale are very grateful and if any of the designers are interested in seeing the final product, just PM me!

Hi Contest Holder,

Thanks for your continuous stream of feedback! One small comment though: designers are not able to send a PM to contest holders, unless you send us one first. This is to prevent designers from influencing the outcome of a contest by socializing or running down the other designs, et cetera. We are able to reply once you've sent us a message though.

Kind regards,

Robbert

i had a far out idea, if someone could somehow make a monkey or monkey head using the letters "VAPE" and then the word "Xhale" coming out of the monkey's mouth, that would be so sick and clever.

Akronix - As we come towards the tail end of the competition, a few extra ideas popped in my head. Not sure if it would even work or not but figured, "what not throw it out there?"

I'm glad you love it, I was afraid you would feel the opposite. My intent was not to confuse or give conflicting directions but sometimes, the best ideas come to you at odd hours and you just got to give the good old college try and see what happens. Look forward to seeing your next submission, its been a few days :)

Hi Folks--
With 2 days left, please be sure to submit any exciting new ideas or requests we've given you for our logo! This has been a great development and with a few minor tweaks, we could select between 4-5 different designers logos. Keep up the great work!

Why were graphic natures submissions taken away?

Logo Designer
Probably because his designs were over sized and touching the edges. It's one of the rules we have to accept every time we submit a design.

Excerpt from the submission rules:
# Neatly centered both horizontally and vertically with spacing all around. (No ugly oversized logos that hit the edges, negative space is a designer's friend!)
# No Borders - we are building a clean and consistent community portfolio.

The CH specifically requested reinstatement even though the design doesn't really match the submission requirements perfectly.
