starting to thin some of these out. Nice designs - I liked something in each of them - but with new entries coming in I want to clear out some of the entries that I can now see will not make the final cut.

#12 - a bit too busy and reminds me too much of the old Pan Am logo
#13 - feels too delicate and fragile for our fund
#6 - too much like a big highway sign

I like #144 a lot - interesting new direction. As always, want to sleep on it, but I like the clean modern design and the simple way that the circle element operates...

more on #144 - I think this overall direction - of working within the word - is better for us. I really liked #15 when you first brought it out, but as more entries came on line, 2 things happened: obviously, competition is getting strong with some very good marks, but also it is becoming clear to me that a strong sign-like emblem may not be right for us. Some of my top picks so far have are either wordmarks or have simple and more subtle emblems or graphic flourishes.

on the strong emblems - I don't think that #47, #48, #90, #91, #94 would work - I haven't put them in the "not interested" pile yet because I'm still hoping to show them to my partners who are in China this week. Thanks!

#144 and #159 are strong - one of our partners (and the senior among the 3 of us) particularly likes the crescent because it suggests the global nature of our fund. If you have more variations on this, I'll get you fast feedback - it is a contender...

Thanks for the fast turn-around, but #175 & #176 are not the right direction for us. the 3D treatment on the oval reads to me more "kitchen appliance" than "digital". I think a better approach might be try different type treatments with the crescent, and/or to fine-tune the crescent itself. So I would stay with the basic structure of #144, and tune it, rather than trying something completely different.

Thanks Roman - I think that with #177 we can definitely say to move away from the literal 3D treatment. Especially since the word in the globe is "VAN", this reads like a very strong logo for a moving or shipping company (hope you have a use for it down the road!).

thank you for the oval feedback, you are right about the moving company appeal, I will take your advice on that! :) Back to the roots, same crescent look with a more easily readable yet modern font, notice how the bottom part of the crescent is an extension of the "A". Thank you!

#189 - quite nice! I think this design would work better for us with flat shading (like you did in #159). And I see the play with the A - pretty subtle now, so if there is way to refine that doesn't a) completely uglify the type, and b) does go too retro-tech (which is what the EDGE kind of looks like now), that would be an improvement. Thanks!

I saw you prefer the blue now, notice here I used upper/lowercase and a more smooth transition between the crescent and the "a". Thanks.

on #216, I may be looking for the impossible - maybe to make the A and circle work together means losing a lot of what makes #144 and #159 so appealing. In #144 and #159, the fact that the type occupieds a single band across (and that all letters are flush top and bottom to that band) makes the design clean and lets the crescent really pop out for the contrast. I see what you're doing on #216 to make the A work, but the resulting type treatment is less interesting, and because it is busy-er, the crescent doesn't stand out as much either.

hope you like this new arrangement, cleaner font style (next 2 entries) and the crescent away from the text serving as a ring or a halo. Thanks!

Good morning - #331, #332 - I think we are moving away from made the crescent design so attractive to us. A few points that might help...

1) the reason I moved the earlier blue version was less the color (although I like it) - it was because crescent was flat shaded, with no highlights.
2) for me, one of the strong aspects of the crescent was that it look like the edge of a sphere - that is, it was a circular element - the new designs have lost that
3) the crescent works well when it surrounds or somehow encapsulates the type - feels less important in the new treatment
4) I have not been looking at many serif typefaces for this logo - a little too traditional and fragile. So for type treatment, #332 is better for us that #331, but it is still a bit on the thin side.

I hope this helps - sorry to be negative, but I figured clear, simple feedback is the most useful thing for you. Appreciate all the work and variations.
