starting to thin some of these out. Nice designs - I liked something in each of them - but with new entries coming in I want to clear out some of the entries that I can now see will not make the final cut.
My first read of #17 as a cattlebrand hasn't gone away with time - plus, I'm sensitive to anything that looks like an "E" at that angle - I don't think I'm the only one who is reminded of the disgraced Enron's logo in seeing an E in that position. Thanks though
By the way, I looked through your portfolio and liked the version of ESSENTIAL that was ranked 34th (on your page 2). Simple wordmark with the circle. We've gotten very few pure wordmark entries, starting that example from your portfolio as a starting point could be promising. Thanks!
OK, I know that I said that I prefered #113 and then ranked #114 higher. when I saw them at smaller size in the ranking window, I realized that #114 will work better at different scales. I usually try to avoid impulse comments...
Aremmai - we've toured your portfolio and love your work. One of my partners in particular singled out your bar-code for BrandNG, your winning entry for MeasureIT, and your logo for Inclined Software. #116 and #117 are continuing to grow on us, but would love to see more variations. right now the box elements suggest "screen" (TV screen, game screen). Would like to see other ideas - themes to pick up on - globe, bridge (as you did with #113 and #114), signal waves, or any other literal or abstract themes that you think would suggest the playful/entertainment side of digital media.
#142 and #143 are not the right direction for us - in particular, the "V" in #142 becomes, to my eye at least, like a giant check mark. would be a great retail logo...
#218 - first reaction is that this is the strongest of this group. I like that you've continued with the direction of #116 and #117. I'm not completely sold on the 3 cyan pixels - they look a little too frivolous to my eye. No need to a variation without them at this point - easy to imagine that - but if there is a different treatment to complement the circle would love to see that.

#224 - this one will have legibility issues - the E will read as an A to most people, and the proximity of "VanEdge" to "Advantage" is already tripping up some people - don't want to exacerbate that.
#221, #222, #223 - not crazy about the treatment on the "E" - not reading it as a bridge. Will sleep on it, but think it will look the same to me in the morning
#229 #231 - feels a little frivolous as well. Think it would read better if the "CAPITAL" were under the VanEdge, and was essentially the "speed line" that shows VanEdge is moving fast (i.e. this could be pushed, but even the graphic treatment of CAPITAL and the dots as they are now would do that)
Thanks for all the variations! Hope this feedback helps...
I kinda like the stickiness of this concept...cutting edge. The VanEdge name as a cutting edge company. I threw in a star accent there to symbolize the goal that your customers is trying to reach and only thru VanEdge it is going to be a possibility.
