I really like the perspective more than a straight on compass. I think globes are overdone atm, and I'm not sure about the compass. I do like your work and the clean compositions. I look forward to seeing what where you go with a little color. Here's a quick list of your logos I really like: DreamSmile, Hamlin Robinson School, Suncoast Surgical, Zvelo (!), Pure and Simple, Leichhardt Street, The Breathing Room...
Really like where you're going with the use of the seal's components. The green and brown look very nice. I would like to see the top couple switching back to blue. Also, the cityscape feels a bit bold and dark... would like to see it opened up a bit in the manner of the Ritz Carlton logo (top center on their page). I like the way theirs feels like a fine piece of jewelry.
My pleasure. I appreciate the work. #139, I really like. I haven't been able to share it with the rest of the team, but I think it is looking really good. The one thing I think I am going to hear is that it looks like an angry man. I would like to see the "eyebrows", the second and fourth roofs, level out a little without loosing too much complexity of form. The way you opened up the solid form looks really nice.
#139 and #140 are both big hits. The first thing I got were the "angry face" comments. Would like to see the "heart" double lines go thinner. We a bit torn as to whether there should be a "frame" element or not.
The general feedback on the contest page: August 24th, 2012, 8:56am A few things:
1. I like the balls above the roof peaks in the original seal and would like to keep them round. 2. I would like to separate the 5 rooftops into the middle 3 sitting into a representation of Oberbaumbrücke. It's a bridge you can find plenty of pics of with google images. I would like the area underneath opened with the more modern opening and the outside towers to have some of the shape and detail elements of the bridge. 3. No shadows or fades.
Also I like the softness of the shapes in the seal, the windows, and the little castle-tops on the buildings with the three lines leading up to the balls on top. The seal doesn't tend to remind me of an angry face like the logos are tending to.
...and we would like to drop the green and go back to blue and silver or black.
I would like to see more curves where possible. The rectangles and triangles are a bit stark. Let me know what you think. Open to suggestions and comments.
I think we would prefer more intricacies in the city and no frame, but I can't make any promises. Many thanks for all the effort and for listening well!
one more thing quickly... my personal favorite is #105, but I have been overridden on it. one thing i like that might be able to come to other designs is the lighter color accent in the upper green wave. i'll be quiet now and let you do your thing.
To be honest, mu favorite is also #105. Hands down. I'll tell you why. A logo needs to be simple in it's form as long as it stays unique. And it has to be memorable by what it stands for. The tri-heart is awesome if you ask me. No one has it, and few tourists have seen it before. The design is classy in a modernish representation,so it's timeless. You have my vote on it if it counts haha :)
Looking forward to your feedback for the latest revisions. Alex
First, thanks for the Oberbaumbrücke representations and integrations. It has helped to see what the idea would mean. It's another frowning face, though, isn't it? I think we'll leave it more like it was and let the bridge from before allude to the idea.
I am still trying to win people over on #105, but would like a revision in the meantime.
The triple heart with the city in the middle... would like to combine components we like from different designs: Proportions and basic "bridge" shape from #137, but no wire-frame cross in the open area underneath, and no "sky" fade above. I also like the flat-bottomed triangle in the roofs of towers 2 and 4. Could you bring up the window tops underneath it to also be flat, and raise the arch in the middle tower to stay above them? Tower tops from and triple-heart frame thickness #150. Those look great - I'm not sure if the thicker or thinner lines are better for the triple-heart, really like those tower tops though. Thoughts?
If we could see that in the color schemes from #137 and #150, it would be very helpful. The frame fades out a little too hard on #150. Perhaps it would be nice to have the inner heart light and the outer dark, or is that too busy?
Please do share your thoughts. They help with the discussion.
My suggestion is the last submission. Thats my favorite. I balanced out the negative and space and the two colored contour works well weight-wise. Let me know if you need anything else.
Sorry for being slow these last few days. I keep ending up here when I have a few moments for web work on my iPad and feel like my hands are tied on this website without a mouse.
I like the solid circles in #164, and pretty much everything else is going over well. Could you pull in the inside roof-lines of "towers" 3 and 5 to make their roofs cover just the outside column of white space? ...and possible with the colors of the two "hearts" switched, or is that wrong? Once we've seen that, I think we're done.
Is it possible to get two? I don't want to let #105 go. Maybe once I integrate it into a web design... :)
No problem, I know it can be frustrating on the iPad :) Can you detail this part? I don't think I understand what you mean exactly (towers 3 and 5?) In regards two getting an additional design/concept, that would have to be purchased separately after the contest ends.
#167 is exactly what I meant. Thanks! I am also still interested in #155. Let me know how that process would go. Great job - thanks for all the effort!
