Our Ideas & Additional Information
I'm really leaning towards an image logo incl a Shamrock, w/ company name. Art Deco style is preferred, but Im not locked in on that. I would like logo to be retro (instantly recognized as an experienced co.), I'd like to be able to have logo ie: shamrock, distinctive enough that it could be pulled out on its own w/o words for certain advertising applications. I compete against a much larger company who's logo is a simple smiley face, "Happy Today or Your Service is Free", and a national company who's logo is Ben Franklin "The punctual Plumber"....so a slogan would be nice that coincides w/ logo

Just a reminder to all designers:

I would really like to use a shamrock in design and I'd like this shamrock to be unique enough that it could stand alone without the full name of the company.

I would also like to stick with a vintage/retro look. examples, Hoover Vacuums, Rotor Rooter (man's face), Old Electromatic logo--------www.andersongroupdesignstore.com is full of examples of the exact look I'm looking for
(spirit of nashville posters---the guitar one and "music city pattern" one (red w/ random images ie cowboy, cup of coffee.......These are exactly what I'm looking for.
The bright, slick, artsy designs are great, very nice, but its not what I'm looking for. I want a logo that could of been designed 80 years ago or 8 minutes ago.

Since we are a plumbing company, if there is anyway to convey that in the shamrock image alone that would be a HUGE plus

I hope this helps alot....thanks for you work to this point

I'm very excited about this latest round of entries, thanks to all.

I like the boldness of entry 21, the font is very good, and the shamrock is a very nice design. I can see it on our shirts, hats, pretty much anything. The only thing I see it may not work as well on is the side of a truck. I'd like to see water/plumbing somehow incorporated in logo w/o over doing it.

I love how entry 26 incorporates the "plumbing" into the shamrock w/o just throwing pipes all over the design or something of that sort. I also love the negative effect with the white/green. I'd like to see it w/ the faucet on the edge of the circle like entry 25 and perhaps with a water drop coming from it. Would like to see a different font on that one.

Its a complete toss up at this point between the 2

Entry 23 is a great design, however I feel it may be a little too feminine. It has that retro kind of 60's look to it and great color. So far the logos that are bold and simple are standing out more to my eye

Great work to all...thanks so much

What i like most about Concept #43 is its horizontal, so putting it on the side of a work van is easier done and more readable, BUT it includes a standalone graphic that could be used on a hat, shirt, materials, ect. I like "Plumbing" inside the pipe looking box for this reason....it emphasizes what WE DO. So many times I see these great looking trucks w/ all these digital bright cpu graphics wrapped all around it.....but in passing, I have no idea what they do, just that the guy on the side of the truck seems happy while he works..haha

Concept 44/32, I still love for the BOLD ness of the graphic....it just pops and demands attention. Since my logo will be on the side of work vans, it needs to be simple to understand, while drawing attention to it. I like this alot about those 2 particular concepts. I like the addition of water to 44, but it kind of throws it off balance. Don't get me wrong about the horizontal design, its not a deal breaker, I'm just looking at possibilities. Right now, I'm judging them on just "look".

After SOOOO much frustration over the years attempting to get a logo concept, I have to say, I never would of dreamed it could be so much fun and exicting as this format provides. I hope the designers are as enthusiastic and greatful for such a wonderful concept.

PS I think two-tone w/ the green is the way to go......

Entry 52, I'd like to see shamrock/cirlce not inside the rectangle, but rather part of it ie: inset on it so that the top and the bottom of the rectangle start off the side of the circle (if that makes sense). LLC needs to be included and "Plumbing" larger

Entry 54, I'd probably leave the handle off the top

I'm going to bring in help to decide, so my current ranking is just default w/ the top designs being a wash. The only feedback I can come up with is this: I'm not in "love" with the shamrock w/ the water faucet, but it is unique and it does hint "plumbing"...it can be pulled to the side and be used as a logo that one would guess is a logo that has something to do w/ water, plumbing, ect. I only like it when its within a circle and the faucets dips into the circle---when the entire graphic is contained the faucet seems like a distraction sort of a "what is that thing there" type of thing. Adding the green box around the text I really like although as mentioned I don't want to shrink the graphic to make it fit inside box.

I like the overall design of the other shamrock (ie entry 54) and the rich darker green color. Font used is great too. My only concern is the shamrock itself, alone without pipes around the text, ect. is simply a shamrock. I really like the shamrock......I was just hoping to convey "plumbing" or "water" somehow through the graphic alone.

These 2 designers have set the bar pretty high and I feel like either is capable of the winning entry. I'd like to see a few other designer's ideas just so I'm 100% sure we've nailed it. At this point in the contest, honestly, I was hoping to be fine tuning 5-6 totally different designs that held to my original request.

#66- I'd like Plumbing to stand alone.....I don't like LLC in the same size, font, and placement as "plumbing"

#70- On the computer, I can "see" the shamrock is half full of liquid, but because of the shading necessary to pull that off, I think that may be much harder to "see" on a small business card, or on embroidered shirts, ect. I like everything else about #70

Using #66 and #70 as my prime examples I'd like to say this: If we kept everything about them the same except the shamrock, would it be possible to submit to me several totally different Shamrocks that could be plugged into either 66/70. With removal of the faucet coming directly off the shamrock and placing it in the circle border (which I like) either design could incorporate any shamrock in the world within the space. I like the design of #70's shamrock better, but neither has nailed it for me based on the shamrock alone. If I could see some totally different shamrocks that (this is important) stick to that retro vibe I'm looking for and perhaps find one I like better than the current 2, then we could plug it into the current designs and have a finished product. I don't know what guidance to give for the shamrock but I'll try. Retro/vintage, smooth lines, elegant rather than simple/rough/clipartish. For example 70, if filling the current/new shamrock designs w/ liquid is the concept, I'd want it to be something that doesn't rely on shading to convey that, maybe just 1st grade, universal vs. of water...I don't know. I'll probably extend this out another week unless a shamrock comes in that blows me away just to give time to fine tune it. I know you all are spending time on this and it shows, I just want to once and for all get my logo problem solved and move forward with branding. Thanks alot for you talent and work

Thanks for all the hard work on my logo design. I wasn't disappointed w/ any of the top designs. Our decision came down to the following:

Entry 21 was the first shamrock design (shape/style of shamrock in a circle) that caught our eye. No shamrock after entry 21 stood out as much because of its smooth lines, fullness and overall character. The font used in Entry 21 was also very appealing because it stuck to the "retro" style I was desperately seeking. Once the designers got some input from me, ie: horizontal for side of work van, ect.....it was fun to see the different directions taken. After tweaking each designs based on my requests/concerns.......the contest came back to the overall design of Entry 21, which I feel is "our" company shamrock.

Thanks again for all the effort poured into this contest. This is a great site that brings customers like me (budgets are too tight to continue to pay designers "blind" money for results that end up sub par) to great designers that are very talented in their trade. I'll definitely refer anyone I know to this site and I'll definitely tell them to request my top two designers.....Thanks so much
