I can work with different images in #10 if you'd like to incorporate others to build the concept.

#8 and #10 are right on! #8 really POPS, and that's what we're after. The proportions with the text are very appealing too. Might you be able to make it a gate with a scalloped top instead of the highest fence post? That might send a nicer message...

#10 is tempting because it incorporates all of the things that made Oviedo grow, but it doesn't catch the eye quite as much as #8

I tried a couple different door styles. I will probabaly put a few others together as well...

I like the curvature on # 15 - can it be the highest point? That's what makes #8 really work. Also, the "Z" shape on the gate is a bit distracting....the straight lines on #16 and #8 seem to flow a little better (actually, on #16, the top bar of the gate doesn't quite align....probably reading too much into subliminal messages, but it just seems to hint at structural unsoundness, and we're about saving the sturdy buildings! :)

If you've got a rooster that could go in the middle, or perhaps some celery, I've gotten a few e-mail requests for that from people around town who've been checking in on the logos....not sure if those could be symmetrical enough to pull off the look.....

tried with a rooster. two looks awkward, but balanced. let me know what you think. also, is the color suitable? just thought i'd cover my bases while i'm making adjustments. thanks for the input!

#21 is great! Our architecture is more country, so the plain topped posts are more reflective. Any chance the whole fence/gate combo could be a little taller? I like the rooster on top with the logo fairly large, but not sure how well that would work with the logo in small scale - we'll see what the community lookers have to say in a few hours :)

Building on a previous concept, adding the celery this time...

with the wider spacing on the text - i also made a couple small changes to make the beak more pronounced

i'm not submitting this as a logo, but i did want you to see a larger version of the rooster

I only just now realized these comments were here! Doh! Hope the feedback on the main post page hasn't seemed to impersonal - didn't want to get all specific with the whole town tuning in :) Everyone's still loving the rooster.

one more simple modification...

#98 - that little border really does the trick! I think that's part of what makes the brown train/rooster design so appealing too.

#98....is that new line totally centered? I know that's super picky, but if this thing were blown up to a billboard, it might look a wee bit off balance (if you were up close to it)....

my apologies. apparently the fence was off by a bit on the right side. this file should be correct all around.
