Per our corporate policy we cant have any initials used as a logo so similar to FedEx or Dell the logo just has to be how "the Jessica Cohen Team" is written out.
it needs to contain the words "the jessica cohen team" however you want to present them.. no additional letters should be present but it does need to say at least that.
it may look better to not have a gap between Jessica and Cohen. Also.. if anyone wants to try to put Jessica on top of Cohen where the capital A is on top of the Capital H in such a way that it creates the shape of a house and then one could add a chimney... I'd be curious to see if anyone could pull that off so it looks good.
One of the ways we want to use the icon at least the main jessica cohen part is as a watermark on photos to "claim" them (so people dont use what we've photographed) - that is one of the reasons jessica cohen part has to be nice and bold.
I am curious if someone did something similar to Dell computers where they did all capitals and slanted both E's so J"E"SSICACOH"E"N and still had the the in there and team before and after on different rows?
We are going to have a meeting today to discuss whether or not we need the words team in the logo.. We are deciding that we do NOT need the word the after seeing your designs. I really like some of the simplicity of the ones without the words the and team.. but equally think having those words make some of the logos work very nicely. Its making us reconsider how we do our marketing overall which we need to discuss. I will let you the know the outcome of todays meeting..
This is interesting First you DO NOT want this because of your client's company policy

Has your client's company policy been revised..this is extremely important information because right now it s big contradiction
Its in your best interest NOT to ask the designers to copy existing logos, especially such high profile ones, because if you pick a copycat design, you will end up being the loser, as you wont be able to copyright the design AND you may end up being taken to court for copyright infringement if you do use it.
eastcoast creative.. you lost me.. dell just slants there e and its a nice bold font. I don't see the contradiction. we cant have pictures or pictorials only letters.. so again I am not sure where you are confused on?!
illumina - I dont want a copy I was curious to see a similar simple execution of my logo with energy of something like dell... nice thick letters and some motion in the E - I didnt love what it looked like with longer words.. but I was curious to see what that might come out looking like. We want something strong but elegant..
eastcoast creative the change I was referring to was whether to include the words the & team. The corporate policy has nothing to do with that but rather just we cant use pictures, icons in our logo. Does that clarify?
Ok I understand the confusion.. we can't have a logo that uses just J.C. as or in the logo like for example the very first logo that was submitted with the letters "jct" on top in addition to the text.. we have to write out Jessica Cohen and cant repeat initials in the form of some kind of icon- does that make sense?? FedEx is a bad example because its short for Federal Express.. I was trying to make reference to how logotournament describes a "wordmark" in the contest brief which is the style of what we are looking for here. I hope that clarifies this.
so you're interested in a wordmark but you're not?! you want Jessica Cohen written out in a font with a raspberry and a gray color used? i am not quite sure the description of your needs is really elucidated
if you look at what we've ranked that will give you an idea of what we like. We will take a look at the fonts and see if we can give more feedback. We do want a wordmark (not an initial mark).
