Hello,
I am really happy that I had a chance to work with you on this project.
Don't worry about being too picky, that is what you have to do on a project like this. You want the final version to look as good as you can imagine it, and having constant feedback and precise comments are the best things designer can ask for when working on a design like this.
As for the files, I will create layered illustrator file that will have all the shapes separated on different layers. I can also provide a photoshop file that will have separate layers. If there is ever need for any additional files in the future, feel free to contact me and I will send you the file you need.
Looking forward to working with you any future projects you might have! This was really an amazing experience.
Hey there! Sorry it has been a minute since I have commented.
There are aspects of this and the former one that I like... but on a project like this where it's really just about playing around with colors and liking one thing from this one and another one from the other one... I don't want to be too picky or seem like I cannot be pleased.
So I'll go ahead and award this one. The feedback I've received is really incredible and I can't thank you enough for bringing the vision of the brief to life.
Will it be possible please, as mentioned in the brief, to also include a file where each shape is separated so that it stands on it's own. This way I will be able to use it for video bumpers where I can fade in one element at a time. Just need one file where the shapes are not touching each other (if not the actual Illustrator or Photoshop file).
Let me know and I'll go ahead and award the contest. You've done a really incredible job and I couldn't be more thankful. Always open to working together in the future when I find someone that can grasp the concept and run with it.
Hello,
I had just uploaded new version. Honestly, I thought it will be a bit too much with all those different colors, but I actually like the way it turned out. Let me know what you think.
Hello,
Sorry for late response, I was offline yesterday. Of course, I can do that. Will try to get to it today, but if not, first thing tomorrow morning.
Thank you!
I was wanting to do this anyway… each shape needs to be a different shade of color. Your eye immediately goes to the 3 yellow shapes and then your brain just starts finding the pairs of colors. So, really going through the rainbow and adding supplementary colors (teal, citron, etc) so that there are 19 different colors will be helpful.
Of course, we can try just changing the color palette on the original one. You don't have to rush with awarding the contest. There is still Selection phase we can use to get it where we want it to be. I don't have a problem working with you on it as long as you need me to.
Listen, I’m looking back at the one We based this off of and that one might be it… just with a few changes and a new color palette. I’m sorry if I’m being annoying…
Can we see that one as it is just in our new palette?
Maybe let's see this in the new color palette... part of the problem is that with so many repeating colors... and with so many of the colors being dark, your eyes just immediately go to the bursts of yellow around the image. Maybe a lighter color palette with this design will help ease the work your brain does when you look at the image. Overall the design should feel creative but PEACEFUL and it doesn't feel peaceful because of these colors so maybe we start from there.
Actually, I'm a little worried about awarding too early and getting stuck with something. I do love this design... maybe it's just about working out the colors.
I very much understand what you mean about the knuckles. It is part of the design that is quite appealing but also makes it too busy when the colors are so different. Maybe we can try just doing the middle knuckle to cut down on the busy-ness. I'm with you. I'm going to go ahead and award the contest... just please continue to be willing to work with us over the next few days to get it right.
Hello,
Thank you for detailed comments and markups. Logo tournament does not allow any communication outside of the platform, so all of these are going to be very helpful and I believe we are going to be able to get the design to the point you want it to be.
One thing I noticed when working on the design yesterday is that the fingers start looking very flat and a little bit weird if I try to make them in one shape. That is why I still tried to have the knuckles of the fingers a little bit defined. I will try to make it look better this time.
Thank you!
Thank you for the resubmission. The new one is just WAY too busy. So, it's best for us to start back at this one again. The Light color scheme is good.
FORGET WHAT WE SAID ABOUT "RED + BLUE = YELLOW". STICK WITH THE ORIGINAL "DARKER WHEN OVERLAYED" CONCEPT YOU HAVE HERE BUT STILL LIGHTEN ALL OF THE COLORS TO THE NEW PALETTE.
We are really looking for each color to be used just once... and for the shapes to be bigger to create less business.
From the middle of the hand down is perfect. Combine the three shapes at the top of the hand and include the pinky finger within that shape. Make each other finger it's own shape.
There are some color notes here with you.
You have what we are looking for... it's just a matter of getting on the same page. I wish there were a way for us to meet over Google Meet/Zoom but I"m not sure LogoTournament allows that. We should be able to get where we want to get to though without too many more edits. We want to be respectful of your time and effort.
Combine these three shapes into one shape. Also, the top part of the finger looks a little funny ( i know it's an exact replica of the photo I shared so thanks for that) but the top of the finger seems to lean a little too far to the left and it just needs to rotate up JUST A LITTLE BIT.
I am not sure what image is supposed to be color reference. The only one that looks like it should be is this one https://logotournament.com/attachment/103524.jpeg Is that it? I don't see the names of the files you uploaded, so can't go on that.
We really love this design! A few things we would like to see adjusted:
1) I've attached an image "colorreference" in the prompt and we are looking for the colors to feel like the tones in the "light muted" column. The areas that overlap (which could be larger, btw) don't need to be a darker color. We understand that in theory, it's correct to blend those colors to form a darker one but, in this instance, we are ok if "red + blue = yellow" instead of "red + blue = purple".
We almost want the colors to look like glass or sea stone (but no shading or anything, still solid colors like in the "light muted" reference)
2) You've pretty much nailed the design aesthetic we are looking for. The amount of shapes however is a little too busy. There are currently 19 shapes and maybe we could cut that down to 10-12.
We're super excited about this one and want to say thank you for a job well done.

Again, I think replacing the color palette to the one I mentioned may get us very close.

Can we see that one as it is just in our new palette?

We need to work on the fingers because I agree with you on the knuckles and probably the shape that includes the pinky…
But if you are willing to finess this with me for the next couple of days I’ll go ahead and award.
