What We Do
Not an organization or business, this logo is for a style blog. The blog pays homage to all things tasteful, including home (decorating, furniture, landscaping), clothes & shoes, and entertainment.

Color Preferences
We love black and white, shades of grey, pink, navy blue, and midtone muted tones. We're open as far as color goes, but we're looking for something classic and elegant, which means we don't want something flashy or colorful. The style we're going for is classic and tailored with possibly romantic leanings. Think old-fashioned and sepia, like a black and white movie. This doesn't mean the logo has to be black/white or sepia -- it just needs to blend with it. We have done very little in terms of web design, so we'd like to see different color palettes that fall into these guidelines.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
The style is classic, timeless, tailored, and elegant. It captures the virtues of modesty, discretion, and self-respect. We like things that are the opposite of trendy. If it would work for Frank Sinatra or Audrey Hepburn, it would work for us.

Thanks for the first entries, designers. You've really got a sense of the look we want. There is more than just me involved, so the rankings may change as discussions ensue. There is so much to work with here that I hate to have to rank -- in truth, most of these would be tied for 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Gorgeous stuff.

Not sure if this helps, but we're considering these two templates right now:

We're thinking now that instead of having a placard-style emblem logo that contains the name of the blog in a shape, we'd like to have some kind of symbol that is separate from the words of the logo. The symbol would reflect grace and taste, and it can be somewhat feminine.

We're thinking this because we intend to put the logo on memes and images to watermark them, and we want to be able to separate the shape from the words for these purposes.
