In this design #42 the blue side of the shield represents the Letter T and the gray side the letter A together they form the shape of a white page. I can easily make adjustments at your request.
Dear Ilan, Thanks for your great input! We like the fonts you are using in all the logos. In entry #42 we like the fact that you are using grey as well as blue and white. Perhaps the logos with light blue are bit too blueish. You are welcome to think of other colors as well. We like the simplicity of your shields, but are more hesitant about the turning pages in the shields. Could you think of a shield with the turning page?
Dear Ilan, First of all; thanks a lot for your very nice proposals. I like the way you experience with new colours. Secondly, I apologize for being inaccurate in my latest feedback to you. I meant to write: could you think of a shield without the turning page? Instead of writing 'without', I now see I wrote 'with' - giving my sentence the opposite meaning. Sorry. However, your proposals are appreciated - also the ones with the new shield. Let me just review your proposals with my business partner, and I'll return with some more accurate feedback.
Dear Ilan, Thanks for the new versions! Firstly, I like the new way you are designing our name in the logo in the new version (e.g. #162): I like that 'Academy' is aligned with 'Tempus'. Is it possible to make variations over the font for 'Tempus'? I like the idea that you are using a serif font for 'Tempus' and a sans serif for 'Academy' and I think we should stick to that. But we are open to suggestions. You have made many editions of the shield. I'm not sure if I understand all the symbols you have suggested (for instance in #144, #150, #163, #167 & #168). Perhaps they are a bit too abstract and too flag-like. Could you think of anything symbolizing 'International', 'academic world' (beside the shield) or 'time' like in up-to-date, accessible instantly..perhaps combined with very simpel shape of the shield? Perhaps the shield could be shaped just by a thin line?
Oh yes, I see that now! That's well thought! If you could come up with another option perhaps it should be with a little less focus on a classical theme. What I'm thinking about is a combination of classical knowledge delivered in a modern way. Our products will primarily be available online but might be available in hard copies as well. The logo doesn't necessarily have to signal 'cyber' 'online' or 'internet' but it could be inspired by elements known from the internet or the computer world. Somehow we would like it to balance between 'trustworthy, classical academics' and something more modern and presently. Keywords could be 'international', 'global' 'academic world' or 'time'. Tempus is derived from the latin word for 'time', and we use it as a way to signal contemporary, up-to-date academic literature available online anytime a day. Your concept of the shield is still very useful but maybe it could be in a design also signaling something new, modern, and contemporary, and not only classical virtues. We like the simplicity of #162 and the shape of shield, but perhaps it could be combined with some sort of a new symbol?
Please don't hesitate to write if you have any questions.
Dear Ilan, Nice new versions. We especially like #191. It looks good the way you have designed the globe using the positive and negative colors. Thanks for submitting different font versions. Your initial font choice (the two fonts you are also using in #191) is the best and it's beautiful. I think we are close to the target. The only thing we have thought of is wether the grey and the blue are too dark together. But the more I look at the logo, the nicer it gets. Let me just digest it and i'll look at it again in the morning.
Thanks, Ilan I think it's better with the lighter grey as in #204 & #205 #201 is interesting. I think it might be to many things on the shield when both the arrow and the globe are used (as in #202, #203) I want to say that #168 & #170 are very nice. I think the fountain pen is the wrong symbol for us, but the concept you have used with these logos is brilliant and it's a beautiful icon!
