Business Intelligence
What We Do
Design and development of business intelligence software.

Also, I picked Syntactical as a company name for two reasons:
1. It was an available .com/.net domain
2. It's a variant of the word syntax which is a programming term. But additionally, within the field of logic, syntax is defined as below. This definition is fitting for what my company does in business intelligence. We take pieces of data from multiple sources, tie the data together, and presentation a simplified representation of massive amounts of complex data so that decision makers have the info they need to make an educated decision.

Logic.
a. that branch of modern logic that studies the various kinds of signs that occur in a system and the possible arrangements of those signs, complete abstraction being made of the meaning of the signs.

Our Ideas & Additional Information
I made a super rough and basic logo at http://syntactical.net. I don't want you to mimic this logo, but I like the clean look of the font.

Generally speaking, I prefer the navy blue to the dark grey. I really like the contrast between blue/grey on #5, but am not sure that I like the way that so much of the area is dark grey. Perhaps a white background would look better and could be more universally used. If you go with a white background then maybe the outer rim of the circle could change to dark grey.

The white background is much better. I also like the shadow effect and the metallic glimmer of #1. The horizontal layout lends itself much better to letterhead, business cards, and a web page header. I do like the image by itself, but realize that the image alone will not be recognized by itself as pertaining to the company, so the company name has to be in the overall logo.

Syntactical,

Please consider ranking the designs rather than eliminating the points we gather are valuable even if we do not win your contest. Also take a moment to review the "Ranking and General Tips" as compiled by one of our designers (Bugy) https://logotournament.com/forum/general_discussion/914
