Background
At Sunset Beach Holiday Park, we pride ourselves on offering a friendly and welcoming service. Sunset Beach Holiday Park is located on beach frontage, 6½ kms north of the City of Geraldton. The beach offers everything from safe swimming for children to windsurfing and kitesurfing. There is also excellent fishing. The Park is a safe environment for families and is a great place to spend a few days whilst taking in some of the many local attractions. Our staff will greet you with a welcome smile after your journey and assist you in planning your stay, booking tours if required.
We have a range of accommodation choices to suit all budgets from two bedroom units, standard en suite chalets, motel style ensuite units custom built in 2011, and park cabins to powered sites.

Sunset Beach Holiday Park is a great destination to relax and unwind for a few days whilst touring and is the ideal spot to stay when travelling to and from Perth.
If you only have a day in Geraldton, it’s not nearly long enough! We suggest spending at least a couple of nights, to really take in the sights.
Day 1
Visit the West Australian Museum and learn about the rich history of the Mid-west. For additional information visit www.museum.wa.gov.au/museums/geraldton
Take a stroll along the foreshore to the City Centre. Sit and relax at The Dome and watch the world go by. Stay at Sunset Beach Holiday Park and receive a free drink voucher.
Either walk or drive up to the HMAS Sydney Memorial. The beautifully designed memorial features five elements steeped in symbolism: a silver dome of 645 seagulls to represent each of the lost Sydney sailors. The wall of remembrance shows photographs of the ship and the names of the Sydney crew. To the north, a bronze statue of a woman gazes desperately out to sea as she awaits news of the ill-fated Sydney. Nearby is “The Stele” - a single, dramatic shape representing the bow of the ship
Finish off your day with either a trip to The Fishermen’s Wharf and buy a freshly caught lobster to cook on one of the many barbecues in the Park or dinner at any number of quality restaurants in Geraldton. Ask us for a recommendation if you are going to eat out.
Other stops along the way include: St Francis Xavier Cathedral, Point Moore Lighthouse and the water playground on the foreshore.
Day 2
Situated about 45 kms south of Geraldton on Ellendale Road is Ellendale Pool. This picturesque spot is an ideal place for bird watching, walking and swimming. There are BBQ facilities, so pack a picnic and enjoy the serenity.
The Walkaway Railway Station Museum is in the vicinity and well worth a visit too.

3. Wind/Kite Surfers (seasonal)
The Coral Coast and Geraldton are internationally recognised as world class destinations for wind sports and Sunset Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Geraldton for wind and kite surfing. Kite and Wind surfers from around the world come to experience the Geraldton wind and there is no better location than being right next to the ocean at Sunset Beach. 4. Wildflower enthusiasts (seasonal)
From July until October, the Chapman Valley and beyond bursts into life with the Wildflower season. Sunset Beach is the ideal base from which to do day trips to witness the magnificent flowering of a usually arid landscape. Follow the river inland and discover over 20 species. Further afield in Mullewa, there is a chance to see the rare wreath flower.
5. Fishing/Diving/Abrolhos Islands
If you are a keen fishermen, Sunset beach offers great beach fishing with the chance to hook tailor, whiting, herring plus it’s a good spot for catching a decent size mulloway. Alternatively, there is a boat ramp approximately 4km south, towards the City.

Scenic flights and charters are available to the Abrolhos Islands. These islands offer a mix of tropical and temperate marine life, create amazing coral gardens, the perfect place to scuba dive or snorkel. The fishing is also excellent. Frequent sightings of sea lions, dolphins and migratory whales (when in season) make this another spectacular destination whilst staying at Sunset Beach.
An array of shipwrecks scatter the ocean floor in and around the Abrolhos, the most famous of which is The Batavia.
