Color Preferences
We are open but we prefer colors that have a more of an earthy tone. We want colors that has organic feel such as browns and green but also brighter colors such as orange or yellow that highlight the ethnic aspect of the people.

Please send the design on white background only.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Sunria is a premium organic fair trade brand for food from Indonesia. The word is a collaboration of 'sun' in Engilsh (Indonesia has a unique position that lays on both sides of the equator and therefore enjoys almost 365 days of tropical sun) and 'ria' in Indonesian which means joy or happiness.

The logo is to represent the concept of 'more than organic', synonymous with the tagline. Sunria, aside from providing health and nutrition to the consumer, also cares about the environment, and people. Sunria is a product of collaboration of thousands of small scale farmers in Indonesia, worked hard to achieve organic international certification. Part of the sales also goes to the community to help them have a better standard of living through fair trade certification.

We want the design to encompass elements such as leaves to represent the organic feel, and incorporate some cultural symbols found in Indonesian batik, a traditional cloth with ethnic patterns. The logo has to have a clean, modern, yet ethnic feel to it. We want to arrange these elements in a way that can represent the sun.

Some logos that we like:
- http://www.gbfund.org/ - providing financial solutions to poverty esp in Africa. We feel that the logo is simple, yet captures the ethnic elements of Africa in a clean and modern way.
- http://surya.com/ - a furniture design company using the Hindi word 'surya' or sun, with inspirations from India. It is using ethnic elements to form sun, and it has a clean, modern, but Indian ethnic feel.
- http://www.suncellular.com.ph/ and innovative arrangement for the shape of the sun and the squares is suitable for telecommunication industry.

We have made the current logo shown below, but we are looking for better ideas. That's why we are having this contest:)

ALL COMMENTS ABOUT ENTRIES WILL BE POSTED AN UPDATED HERE!

NEW: I want to see more design that has the leaves and sun more integrated into the word sunria, to be part of or extension of the alphabets.

I love no #4 because it is such as simple, clean, and friendly concept with leaf and the sun above it. I think this design has great potential if the sun is made in a more ethnic way.
#25 the font is really nice and how you highlight the word organic with a green curve is smart.

LETTER A: There are 2 types of lowercase 'a'. I want the 'a' to be with a top arc (double-story type)
GREEN COLOR: i would prefer a brighter organic green like #4, #51 but not so much #64

Overall, I need a stronger identity of Indonesia but done with a modern twist. Some symbols when you look at them, you can just tell that it has elements of Africa, India, etc. We are still looking for something that can identify it to Indonesian culture.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - BATIK

Hi guys, I think that I should give more information about a stronger Indonesian Identity. I have put in the brief that I want the design to incorporate "Batik" but I think many are lost on what it is. So here is more explanation and hopefully it will fuel your creative juices:)

Batik is an art form seen in Indonesian textiles. The word means 'small dots' as a lot of the designs are made by dots. I want Batik to be part of this logo's design because of its cultural significance to Indonesia. United Nations has recognized batik to be of Indonesian heritage in its list of "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity" items.

Batik is regarded as a cultural icon with its own uniqueness. It conveys certain symbols and a profound philosophy, including man’s life cycle, The techniques, symbolism and culture permeate the lives of Indonesians from beginning to end: infants are carried in batik slings decorated with symbols designed to bring the child luck, and the dead are shrouded in funerary batik.

70% of Indonesians are farmers (about 150 million people) and their livelihood is very much dependent on agriculture and nature which is strongly reflected in Batik depicting pictures of sun, leaves, flowers, and animals. This is why I feel so strongly that the logo should incorporate Batik (strokes/elements) to show the ethnicity but in a modern way. This brand will be in shelves with many other international organic brand, we need it to stand out that it is Indonesian.

Please see examples of how Batik textile looks like: http://blog.baliwww.com/guides/387
and how people, including famous people, have embraced them :http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t73547-50.html -->(the first 4 pics are not Indonesian batik).
I think these 2 websites are very good examples of Batik.

Thank you for all the lovely designs so far, and I hope that with this info, we can make the designs to represent Indonesia more:)
