With these logos I really tried to concentrate on strong color choices, the yellow of beach/sun/sand with the blue of sky/water to convey vacation. I'm sure not all vacations you plan travel to sunny destinations only, so the colors also reinforce a nice sunny day, but it could be anywhere. The one logo is obviously a sun with a reflection in water. The other is hinting towards travel at a higher level of 4 or 5 star accommodations. Both of these logos should reproduce very well at a small scale, black and white, or in a rough fax type setting. I try to stay away from too many fancy gradients, transparencies, glossyness etc for this reason. These logos can always be amped up and made more shiny if needed, but should always work in the simplest form first. I would need to create a separate black and white version for one color printing though. Hope they work for your needs!
Thanks Danafl for showing interest in the logo. Here is one with the text in black. Not sure if it works any better to be honest. I'm attaching another one with a darker blue throughout the logo to make the text pop a little more. I'm also attaching the black and white versions. One has the sun in a 50% screen of black, better for a higher resolution print in one color, and the other one has just an outline around the sun, better for a simple one color print on a pen or stamp etc.
