#23: Really fun! Can you add a wine glass as well? And can you let us see different shades/colors? Beautiful! #20: This is nice, too! Can you darken the skyline in the back a bit and extend it on the sides - it's a little hard to see. And is there a way to make the dessert look a little more sophisticated? I know that sounds strange :) Let me know if you don't understand.
Regarding the dessert changes - can you perhaps add some texturing to the cupcake bottom? Perhaps to look like a really cupcake holder? A more decorative icing top would be nice, too!
I made a few more options for both designs. Regarding the cupcake, I made a few changes, but I plan to make more options in the morning (already late night here), so your feedback and directions are welcome.
Thank you, Yeya! Wonderful work! When you're making changes, can you add a cherry at the top of the cupcake on of #43 & #44?
Also, we would need changes later for Los Angeles and Chicago. How much would you charge to make those changes? We did the same thing last year and it worked really well - we just want to know if designers are willing to make the changes. Thanks!
More ideas! Can you also try different mixes of sky colors? I'd like to see some with gradient that are also intense (instead of light). One idea is a mix of 42 and 40 with a slightly more intense orange? Other color combos would be welcome that we could then use in the other cities.
Also, can you try to make the bridge a little more visible behind the glass/desserts. And can you try making the wine a little pink to add color? Thanks!
Thank you for all the suggestions, I will work on the revisions now! Regarding the after work, I believe majority of designers are happy with the opportunity for the extra work, but we are not allowed to discus it until the contest is complete. I hope you understand.
It took some time today to work on the revisions, but here they are. I Improved the look of the wine glass, and experimented with color options and did a few more options with different positions and angles of the bridge. I am working on the revisions for the other design, and will upload soon when I finish. If you have any suggestions let me know!
Those new ones are beautiful! I'm going to leave them where they are for now because my team needs time during the day to look at them and I don't want to confuse them. I'd like to see a version of 71 with either orange/blue, purple/blue - basically I need another combination because our colors were orange and purple last year! We might be able to use those colors for another city, which is what we did last year as well. Thank you!
Also, some of our team continue to like #43, so please submit revisions if you have more ideas!
I just realized there are different bridges - fantastic! Will take some time to digest - and also need to get back to my day job :). Will check in a bit later!
I uploaded a few more options for the other design, I added the cherry on top and tried different color combination on the cupcake and the whole design. I will try more color gradients for the other one like you suggested.
Here are some more color options, orange/blue and purple/blue, like you suggested. Let me know how you like the new ones, and if you have any further suggestions!
Congratulations, Yeya! You're the winning designer!! We love your work and are now trying to figure out which direction we'd like to go with for the final design. I'll reach out to you in the next couple of days to request variations. One thing we do know is that we need to make sure to use the the Golden Gate Bridge and not the Bay Bridge. The Golden Gate has the bars going across (#72)and not the Xs (#83). For starter's, please try to figure out where you could add the word "Spark" into the design (#72 style not #79). I was thinking maybe above 'Sugar' in smaller letters, but other options might work, too.
Thnak you for the comments, nice to hear that. I am happy you like my work! I made a few more solutions, with The Golden Gate bridge in a few different angles, and added a word "spark". In one I tried the typeface from the spark logo, and in the other options I made it the same font as the "Bay area 2012". Let me know if you like it, and if you have any other suggestions!
Thanks for the quick work. I'm still gathering ideas, but I think we'd like to try going with a darker background with lighter letters. Can you try one with the blues from #40 and the orange from #74? Back with more suggestions later!
Oh, and I like the bridge in #114 & #115. When you do the next set of versions, can you do with and without the light streaks of light? Just want to compare two identical ones. Thanks!
Here are a few more solutions with stronger colors and the white color for the name. I tried to combine the dark blue and the orange like you suggested, and made two sets of combinations. #118 and #119 (without the light streaks) and #120 and #121 with the orange going from the top, and one more with the silhouette also in orange #122.
When blue and orange are put closer together in the gradient it becomes purple, due to the mix, and you said previously that the combination should be avoided, so I made these solutions to avoid the purple, but still keep the orange/blue combo, if I understood the request well to mix blue from #40 and orange from #74.
Sorry for the delay, but I've been trying to get more opinions. We'd like to move towards the darker blue background, but would like to see one with a little purple in it. (#41 is too purple)
Some other things:
1. Like the bridge in #118 2. Can we lighten it up with slightly brighter stars and by making the light streaks a bit lighter as well? #118 is a little too dark - want it to sparkle a bit and want to see the bridge more clearly. (#85 gets closer but is maybe a bit too light) 3. Desserts - do you have any ideas for a small chocolate dessert that could go on the right? (I feel silly asking this!) 4. For the bottom banner, Spark Bay Area 2012 fits our needs better. I like Spark at the top, but think it's too small if the logo needs to be printed smaller. Can you also make it a bit bigger? Ignore my earlier comment about more space from the border :)
I made a few more options based on the suggestions. #123 and #124 are similar to #85 but with stronger and a bit darker colors. Here I made "spark" at the top but bigger, and in #125 it is a little bit bigger. I tried a few options for the chocolate desert, and made two more options and also converted the previous cake with the pink frosting to the chocolate one. In #125 I kept the orange and blue and added a bit of purple in the middle, something between #85 and #118, and #126, #127( the same only a little bit lighter background), with the Spark Bay Area 2012 underneath. The starts and the light streaks are lighter on all the new ones.
I hope you like it and let me know if you need to see more options or combinations.
Ok, we're starting to like #126! Can you switch the chocolate with the one in #125? Also:
1. please make the lettering on the bottom a little bigger 2. Is there any way to make Sugar Rush pop out a little more? I'm wondering if the only way is to darken the background - thoughts? 3. can you add a little variation in the size and brightness of the stars? on 126 they look a little too uniform than on others.
I made a few more options. Switched the chocolate desert. I find that the sans serif font for the bottom text works better, because it can be made bigger and has better readability when there is more text (Spark Bay Area 2012), I hope you like it better too. For the name I added a shadow and made the existing darker offset a bit bigger. I tried a few different levels of the background darkness as well, so #135 has the darkest one and #134 is a bit lighter, and #132 and #133 a bit more. There is more variety in the size and brightness on the stars too. Let me know how you like the changes!
Yeya, This designs are amazing! We met tonight and it looks like more people prefer the dark background off #119 without the streaks of light, but like most everything else on #134.
So, our final draft request is #134 with a dark blue background (like 119) without streaks and a few small stars that are brighter. Please leave Sugar Rush text as it is in #134. We continue to like the Spark Bay Area text on the bottom and I get what you mean by using a sans serif font, but we think the font in #134 is too bold and competes with Sugar Rush. Can you find one that is readable but not so strong?
Again, thank you, thank you, thank you for working with us! You'll be helping hundreds of kids with this outstanding design! We are all so excited!
Thank you for the comment, I am happy you all like the logo, and I hope it will help bring many people to the event, and raise funds to help the ones in need.
I made a few more options, with the darker background, removed the light streaks, added a few smaller brighter stars and tried a few more different fonts for the bottom text. #136 has the same font as #134, just thinner, and #142 too, with the color little darker, to separate it fro the name. I find this font works best, but I made a few more for you to chose from. In #142 I also made the existing stars in the back more transparent so the little ones stand out more without it looking crowded.
